What made me so happy with Shoboe was how he ended the season with it. Perfect skate in the Oly Team Event. Very good skate in the Oly single event. Stellar skate at Worlds. It just kept getting better and better! It was so satisfying to see the improvement. And of course, his skipping across the ice at Worlds made it even happier! :points:

I love the suit vibe, but I NEED a few sparkles! :laugh: It does worry me that the suit takes away from his beautiful lines. I get the jazzy, blues-y vibe of the suit, but I don't know. We need to recruit @4everchan to go peek through Mathieu Caron's window and see if he is working on Sho's costume!!! Even if the costume were ready now, he would never wear the "for real" costume in April. It would be old news by the time the season comes around... I love to see the different moves from him with the cross rolls, and some of the moves that he did last year with the scary split jump into a crouch, the ballet jump (?), cool footwork. This is a GREAT change for him! Love it! Thank you Stepen! :cheer2:

I've just rewatched the Oboe performance at the worlds and I can't get over it 🤩
I know, the suit could hide his lines, but i like those vibes... anyway, I'll love his program no matter what costume he'll wear.
And I noticed that in Gravity he does the split jump, which is sort of a rarity for him, correct me if I'm wrong

i will let you know how the fittings go :) will ask for extra adjusted fit ;)
 
It's amazing that Oboe was a Kenji program, Gravity is by Stepen and they're so similar and in tune with Shoma's abilities and what is needed for a short program.
The music is not to my liking
The suit vibe is chaotic especially around the stomach and shoulders
But then I see the parts come together because the skating is sublime
He makes it work. The music can be edited. The suit can be refined so......
Happy that it's going to get better from here.
 
i just don't like some of the lyrics... gravity it's working against me :( and gravity wants to bring me down :(

it's like asking for trouble :(


but i like the song (surprisingly) it's the vibe of it, with the guitar and the slow and steady drumming... and whatever shoma wears, doesn't matter to me... his beauty transcends all costumes... come on :) I fell for him when he showed up dressed as a leprechaun
 
^^^Oh that's right! Anyone who can love him in that costume can love anything! :laugh2: Yes, a certain group of people have already made fun of the lyrics! I'm going to count on Sho being able to work his magic with it and thrill us all!

Question for you 4everchan -- he can't let his arm swing like that at the end, right? Or I guess he has to watch the timing of it? Because if his arm is still moving, that still counts as running the clock, I think?

The song does have a melancholic vibe, doesn't it? At first I was a bit surprised by the choice given the lyrics, but I'm gonna be praying that he'll be kept "where the light is" and keep being his best self, despite the "gravity" (which in my head, I'm interpreting as the temptations and difficulties we all face in life) :pray:

I love how Shoma doesn't seem too fussed by what he wears or how he looks physically. I remember reading one of the costume makers saying Shoma doesn't have much to say about costumes apart from how comfortably he can move in them. Then here was a 2021 video where his manager remarked Shoma hadn't combed his hair, and Shoma replied that except for ice shows and competitions, he never lays a hand on his hair 😆 He seems so real and down-to-earth.

Personally, I think black looks super flattering on him. So profession and passionate, but somehow still manages to look approachable and even huggable 😁

I think it's okay though @Matthew , to hold on to Oboe just a little bit more 😊 I mean, this is only the start of May! Shoma's first Worlds title is just one month old 😆 And we still have to wait until the first broadcast in May 22 to see what Gravity fully looks like. At least until Goldenskate do their annual poll about favorite programs of this season, ahaha.

Shoma skated Gravity again today, with the following layout:
- Afternoon show: 4F 4T 3Afall
- Evening show: 3A 3Aeu3F 3A





LOL at the 3A revenge 🤣

He challenged the 3Lz3T combo at the Finale, popped the 3T to 2T and two-footed it at the first show, landed it at the second show.

Also, Kanadai (Kana Muramoto and Daisuke Takahashi) were watching the first show! And Kome, one of Shoma's gamer friends (also friend of Marin, Miyu, Kazuki and Yuma) watched the second show.

Tomorrow (May 2) Prince Ice World have a day off, so hoping Shoma can rest well and come back refreshed!
