There's a thankful tone to that message that really comes across in the original Japanese. 😊 "12 performances safely completed without injuries! I'm glad my athlete finished without injury!" He then thanks the guests, cast members, staff, and all the spectators. I'm so glad that Shoma is in good hands. 😁
Thx for the additional details on the Demi-san post. I loved the puppy video episodes where Demi-san came to the Uno household to give Sho his therapy for his ankle. He almost seems like one of the family. I agree, he should pay him double!...I spoke to him once, he is a really, really nice guy.

It's so heart warming to see Shoma surrounded by people and puppies that obviously care for him 🥲

😲 @Arriba627 could you please share more about speaking with Demi-san, if you don't mind?
In 2018, when Shoma came to Chicago to train, he brought Demi-san with. I saw Demi-san standing alone and went to him and asked if he spoke English. He made the motion for "just a LITTLE bit". I told him "Thank you for taking such good care of Shoma!" He gave a big smile and bowed. He seems like a genuinely nice guy. Wish I could have talked to him more, but I kind of assumed his English was about as good as my Japanese. While Sho was practicing, he was writing notes - he seemed to be writing about how many jumps were completed successfully, etc.

Everybody was busy taking photos of the members, but I was just waving “our” banner.
I wished to have two more hands to take Shotographs.:laugh2:
Can't resist posting the banner jerrymouse is talking about waving. It's a beautiful banner, and it has been waved in many places throughout the world, in honor of Shoma (France, Japan, U.S., Netherlands ? others?) . The person who made it did such a beautiful job! Here it is at Sk America in Las Vegas.

Having so many feels reading an old interview of David Wilson, the choreographer of Dancing on My Own. He saw the piece as reflecting what Shoma was going through at the time:

David Wilson's thoughts on song choice:
"Isn’t it interesting that when you do a vulnerable piece, you are actually taking a risk. More of a risk than skating to a big champion music like ‘The Gladiator’. Big champion music is easy. It does not require an emotional connection, you just have to be good. If it is a more vulnerable, nuanced, and sensitive piece, you are taking a chance. But when you skate good, the payoff is huge! It is always huge. But it is a risk. It is always a risk to bare your soul."

I see Gravity as another piece on the more sensitive end of the spectrum. Judging from the NowVoice (thanks @Arriba627 ), it seems Shoma is connecting with it already, and he's obviously grown a lot as a person and as a skater in the past few years, so I think the payoff will be huge for him! I'm so looking forward to seeing the whole thing one of these days, hopefully soon

Seeing this interview reemerging on various forums again and again really makes me happy. David was extremely generous in sharing his thoughts and emotions with me -- I did not even need to 'work' during this interview, David did everything for me. With him, you just ask your question, sit back, and enjoy a wonderful and passionate speech. Then the next question, then another one... Easy.

Don't be modest Doc! You have to take some credit! BTW, love your new Favorite Programs essay. I wrote a comment and then when I went to post it, it required me to establish a .ru account, which I didn't want to do. It's a wonderful essay, and Google Translate worked pretty well! Thx for your efforts on analyzing Sho's programs. I wish I could put things even half as eloquently as you do!!!!!

A ton of content today from the Colantotte event... but first Shoma looking really good with Emma-chan :love2:

Shoma answered a lot of fan questions at the event, I recommend to read Feimeicheng's translations on her Instagram and shomagravity translations on their Twitter. The event was attended by 100 lucky fans in person (decided by lottery) and those who bought Colantotte can watch the event through livestream.

Some important information, summarized:

- Theme for Next Season: "Myself" + "Adaptation" . He already had "Myself" as his theme for Japanese Nationals 2021 but with the new rules, he added "Adaptation" since he (and other skaters) need to adapt to the new rules.

- Program Plans: He'll work on his EX first, and then his FS. Choreographers still reported as Kenji Miyamoto for FS, Mihoko Higuchi for EX. He usually needed 3 days to work on new choreography, sometimes 4 days.

- What was delicious about Deniss' Carbonara: He has no idea LOL. He said Deniss pays close attention to every detail when cooking and it even makes Stephane confused. Essentially Deniss' carbonara is delicious but Shoma doesn't know why.

- Emma: He was asked about what is cute about Emma and Shoma said she looks like she's speaking even though she can't. And she appeals (cutely) for his attention a lot and gets upset when he pays attention to other puppies. Also, Emma has been more attached to Itsuki lately since Shoma hasn't been home often due to ice shows.

- On Keiji's Retirement: @KiraraChin has kindly linked in the post above <3

- Gravity Thoughts: Shoma usually doesn't like or dislike his programs (meaning he has no strong preference) but Gravity has become a favorite amongst the programs he recently skated, because when Shoma watched it he doesn't look too much like how he usually skates. His body learned to move in unusual ways, and it made him think "so I can move like this too." It's also the first time in a few years that he felt his expression is getting better. He said the him from a few years ago couldn't do the program.

- Mother's Day: Shoma gave Mama Uno a scarf as a Mother's Day/birthday present (since the dates are close). Feimeicheng has a great translation on Shoma's comment about thanking his mother.

- Becoming World Champion: Shoma is happy that the people who supports him are happy, but he doesn't want to end his career here. He knows he won Worlds because Nathan wasn't able to compete, so he wants to continue to grow and improve more so that he can be a champion without doubts / in a more inevitable way in the future.

- New Rules for Jump Sequences and Combos: He doesn't know if the new rules has been decided yet, but he will think of a jump composition that will comply with the rules. He's considering trying jump sequences with 3A as the second jump. Previously he's been trying jump combinations with 3Lo as the second jump, but if the new rules decide that SEQ with 3A has the same value as 3A COMBO, he'll probably prioritize the SEQ with 3A first. His approach: the combination needs to be realistic and the score value should be easy to increase.

- On Mao's Influence: Mao is the one who made him understand how beautiful figure skating is and she always shows Shoma to walk on the right path as a skater. He owe her everything to become what he is now.

- Food at the Beijing Olympics: He was told not to go to the restaurants since it's not very safe, so Shoma fed himself with the food he brought from Japan. After he finished his individual event he did go to the Ajinomoto station but he got bored with the same menu and asked reporters to bring him snacks :ROFLMAO: He sympathized with the pairs skaters because their event was last so they had to go through this tough time the longest. Also... he said he tried to cook for himself but it's just too difficult and takes too much time.
