^^^Oh, I hope for your sake he goes to.Shombardia!!!...Grrr, hurry up! How long does it take to decide where he wants to go! He's already had plenty of time to talk / think about it, and I'm sure he and Stepen have already talked it over. Come on ISU, fans have to make their plans, request vacation, etc. It's harder to get flights now too.
I'm the type of person that tends to get "analysis paralysis" when making decisions, so I guess I was projecting my own thoughts about making decisions onto the situation because I tend to see having more time to decide as a good thing. I didn't even consider the impact on Challengers; I was just trying to give a positive spin on a disappointing situation. 😞

I'm with you on that. I already have my Sk America tickets, so I shouldn't really make a plane reservation, since it would make sense just to fly from Boston to Toronto, rather than coming home and then flying two days later to Toronto (if he does Sk Can). Ah, such problems! :laugh2: I have pretty much decided I want to.see him no matter where he is, so I'm really impatient. I think Sk Can is very possible, but I doubt he'll be at Sk Amer.
I have been holding off on buying tickets to Skate America (although I hear it's almost sold out) and Skate Canada because my main priority is seeing Shoma and those tournaments are too far away from me to get to easily. I personally hope he doesn't go to Skate Canada, as those wavy-looking condos in Mississauga irrationally scare me. 😱 I'll face my fear of those condos if Shoma goes there, though...

I've convinced myself that he'll be in France, which would mean Skate America and IdF if he decides to go early or IdF and NHK if he decides to go late, imo.

It's disappointing and frustrating to not be able to make plans early, but all we can do is be patient... *sigh*

And we can at least look forward to Shoma's next ice show! I can't wait to see his collaboration with Nathan Chen and I really wonder how Shoma's fiery intensity on the ice will mesh with Nathan's cool, calm, collected style.

I think it's highly unlikely he'll go to Sk Amer. The U.S. will want to have Ilia there so will probably not want to risk having Shoma beat him. So maybe some of the questions are Does he want easier wins or bigger challenges? Does he want to minimize travel? Does he want earlier, later, or 1 early and 1 later event? What does JSF want? Anyway, I do think Canada is more likely than the U.S. I heard that too, that the Sk Amer tickets have sold really well. Plus it's a 2,000 seat facility, so if Sho would happen to be there, I think his fans would be out of luck! Ah, so much to think about. Like I said, hurry up ISU.

On the road again! Dreams on Ice in Yokohama is July 1, 2, 3. Looks like he has some precious Mofumofu cargo with him. Nathan and Ilia are guest skaters at DOI too. Which programs will we see from Sho?

Ah, so it's no big mystery. Sho will be skating Gravity. I'll be anxious to see what it looks like now that he's had a little more practice time. I love the way he says "Gravity". 💜

Wow, Shomagravity is really spoiling us with doing all these translations. Here is the latest from the new Now Voice.

Feimeicheng posted some very insightful Now Voice translations on her Instagram. I wondered why his jumps.were downgraded and a little "off". This explains it. The program still looked beautiful!

I loooove the long twizzle sequence! Love to see the changes they made with Stéphane, I think the program looks more complete now and it flows really nicely from element to element! The atmosphere is lovely too. Exciting to see how it develops! 👏
He finished today's show with a clean layout of 4T 3A and 3S!

Great photos from DOI 2022

Otsukare Shoma.

Shoma's Gravity from the last performance of Dreams on Ice (July 3):

I have been a bit busy in the last few days, but wow... the choreo details! I thought back in May when I first saw the first video of Gravity it was already quite detailed with the elements, but Shoma must have worked hard with Stephane when they were in Japan, because there are so many little things that makes the program even more personal. I already love the long twizzle highlight, I love it even more now that they added this choreo detail to make Shoma's arms "unravel"- very fitting for that improvised long falsetto in this song.

It still passed by so quickly, didn't feel like a three minute program at all. For me this program is unmistakably made by Stephane, his choreographic style is so recognizable- but the musicality and the emotional openness, it's all Shoma. Honestly the Dreams on Ice performance made me realize the Prince Ice World performance was quite technical (understandable, Shoma just got the program back then). I love tracking its progress- to me the elements like jumps and spins are not quite tidy yet (however, kudos to Shoma for being able to introduce the difficult exit on his sitspin), but the in-between of the elements have really improved in the degree of completion. Also his expressions- the close up shots in the videos have been so exquisite! He's grown to be so very handsome.

It's a shame that he sprained his ankle a few days before the shows- because it shows in not just the jumps but also the accuracy of his edges. But he was able to finish the show without falling (for 4 shows he did finale SBS 4T with Nathan and Yuma, and he landed it cleanly each time), so I hope he'll be able to maintain his condition. We still have a long July... can't wait for Shoma's next show!

A couple times it looked like he lost his centering on a spin or twizzles but I think that's to be expected at first, especially since he twisted his ankle. I remember him saying when he does a new program at ice shows, at first he's trying to remember the choreo. Then as it progresses, he starts adding more expression. It's beginning to have a wonderful, seamless, smooth quality to it. Now if we can just "fix" the costume, whatever that might mean! There are a couple little movements I just love, especially when he does that little skip and the cross rolls.

July is really busy for Sho. Prince Ice World in Tokyo July 15-18 and The Ice July 23-24, 26-28, 30-31. Then in August we have Friends On Ice.
