It'll be awesome to watch the competition live. It's too bad that NBC Sports will not do replays especially with the skater's program music. I noticed that with Ilia's program on Youtube. Hopefully there will be a way for fans who can't watch Shoma's performance during the competition in person or live on TV to be able to see the program after.

It's Skate Canada Week and that means one thing-Shoma is on the move! (Why does spell check keep trying to make Shoma into Soma?)

Ooh, a new news article about Shoma finding inspiration from Ilia Malinin! It also has some interesting thoughts from Shoma about his becoming a world champion.
I'm on my way to Canada, but my flight is delayed...oh well, I can spend a little more time relaxing in my room before leaving for the airport.

Interesting comments from Shoma about Ilia . If that makes him feel better to be the chaser, fine by me. However, after seeing. Ilia at Sk Amer, I would like to assure Sho that it is Ilia who is chasing him. Ilia is a prodigious jumper, but even he has said he knows he has a long way to go with his other elements. In a recent article I read about him, he said they are spending at least an hour and a half a day working on spins, steps, edges, etc. He is aware of his strengths and weaknesses. (Adding -- please note, I am not dissing Ilia. He is a very exciting skater with a strong desire to improve!)
In the meantime, thank you for your humility, Sho -- always ready to praise your fellow competitors. This is a big part of why I follow, love, and admire you. Ganbatte!

Today feels like Christmas 
in October. Santa arrived early! I received a package with my Shoma goodies! Ah, such cool stuff! Love the color of the new Sho towel. It's kind of Toro / Champion gold medal orange/gold. I think the key chain is really cool!

Thanks! My flight got even more delayed and I'm waiting in the airport right now...but at least I used some of the extra time to visit an aquarium before going there! Still in good spirits for sure, even though my flight to Toronto will land there after midnight (Eastern time) and I didn't get much sleep last night.

Gotta love Shoma fans. Where I live, Shoma is trending on Twitter. I looked at some of the posts and they are all in support and love for Shoma's first Grand Prix! I can't wait!

Translation is not perfect (a bit dramatic, which is common in sportswriting) but I think it captured the spirit of what Shoma said quite well. Shoma really enjoys competition and respects his competitors highly; love his high praise for Ilia. The part of the article that's kind of underrated is the part where he talked about his World title- it's very in-character for Shoma to question his own World title in the absence of his biggest rivals but at the same time, I'm happy that he was able to acknowledge that he really did peak skating-wise at Worlds, it was his best form in the season that he worked very hard for, and if he keeps doubting the win, he'll always going to be asking himself the same question over and over. Being with a team that's very happy for him hopefully helps him cherish the achievement and the happiness that comes with it. He earned that win
