Looking good. He will give his usual 120% and do whatever he can do! I am strangely calm. It's looking like we won't get the blue suit we were hoping for. I suppose that's the least of his / our worries at this point!

amazing performance 🥰
I was really struck by how he took his time with his movements!

p.s. I've been MIA and just looked back a page to see the injury concerns... am I missing anything else that happened for Jackie to call it an "eventful" week for Shoma??

Shoma, under the circumstances - masterful. He managed it well, pressure, attention, problem, insecurities,...
His immediate reaction showed all of this partly. It meant a lot.

Funny that they now "plan" the 4T+2T anyway. Maybe a psychological trick as it won't show as "he did less" to the judges if the 3T does not work.

follow up to this:
I was curious and looked up Shoma's 4T+2Ts on skatingscores, sort by GOE.
The 4T+2T today ("as planned") got 3.39 GOE, his biggest score there.
That seems to be a lot.

The list shows that his best rated previous 4T+2T got 2.99
One could ofc possibly look up if all of this 4T+2Ts have been planned 4T+3Ts or not 😅

and ofc a single GOE might also have had Champion bonus or whatever.
but I think it's interesting nevertheless and it could be something worth watching over the next competitions, whenever they might be (WTT and next season probably).

I have not watched the SP yet, because I was working 😭😭 but I'm happy to see that it went well.
ISU youtube channnel is blocked in my region, so where can I watch the program? Any clue?

Reporting from Saitama:

Went to a nearby Shinto shrine with my Airbnb host this morning to pray for Shoma's health. It seems my prayers worked, to say the least!

All jumps were done cleanly during the 6-min warmup, including 4T-3Ts. It's a slight disappointment to not see it in competition, but considering the circumstances, I'm glad Shoma was able to do a combo. I was concerned about whether the 4T+2T would take him out of the lead, but the judges clearly saw the beautiful intensity of his skating for what it is-- masterful.

Didn't watch Shoma on the ice while Keegan was waiting for his scores; was too focused on praying.

I suppose I have always been on the contrary side of this issue, but the red costume is still gorgeous and I am glad to see it again. No point in trying a new costume anyway with injury concerns.

Let's keep hoping for Shoma! I'll definitely come back to that shrine again...

Just enjoyed watching again. Love Stepen's words as he comes off the ice. "Good fight, beautiful performance, thank you so much!" I could hear something about the infamous triple toe as they left the K & C but couldn't quite catch what the words were.

Shomajesty, you rock. The quality of movement, the smoothness, the patience, and after watching this all season, I still haven't gotten over those amazing twizzles. The red costume - up close it looks ok. When you see it out on the ice in motion in person, I think it looks great.

Now onto the free. Demi-san, work some of your magic, por.favor.
