ONE PIECE ON ICE 😍
I can’t wait.

^^^Sounds fun jerrymouse! And I see they are starting to advertise the merchandise. I like the cheer towel and the rubber keychain with the little hat.

THE ICE continues to shine at its last stop on the tour. Well done everyone!

Proof that Sho really did shimmy at THE ICE, albeit a rather half-hearted shimmy. I'm sorry to see THE ICE come to an end. There have been a lot of fun things, photos, great programs from this show!

Sho did a new NOW VOICE. I see a few bits and pieces of translation online.

--He has asked mom and dad to come to OPOI. (Sounds like he usually doesn't specifically ask them to come).
--With playing a character, OPOI is very different for him. He thinks it is going to be a good show and really hopes people will come out to see it!
--He thought the Nate/Sho duet was very high quality, and it was a good showcase for their skills. When he does a duet or other collaboration, he REALLY doesn't want to fall on his jumps.
--He thought about performing Great Spirit for The Ice, but he decided to change things up and do This Town instead. A quick "brush up" was all he needed on the choreo. He is very comfortable with the David Wilson choreo and might even consider doing DOMO in the future.

So sorry Sho won't be on the Japan Open team this year. This is the first time since becoming a senior that he will not be part of the team. I already had heard this but was still hoping. He needs a free skate to participate and maybe would have to rush to get it in shape after OPOI. Good luck to the participants. The teams are:

Japan: Shimada, Tomono, Sakamoto, Miyahara
N. America: Malinin, Brown, Levito, Bell
Europe: Aymoz, Kvitelashvili, Hendrickx, Repond

It's not the first time after he became senior that he didn't take part in Japan Open. He also didn't compete in Japan Open 2020.

Yes, that was domestic only. Ick, that was during the bad old Covid times. That didn't count for me. I think they did the blue team and the red team?

I'm still pretty shocked to hear this, though hearing that he wouldn't have a free skate ready by that time makes sense. I truly hope that Shoma can deal with the pressure of having his first competition of the season be a Grand Prix...🙏

I'm not shocked at all...? Shoma already said since Worlds 2023 ended that he will start his next season later, and I think in one of his members only ojigaming stream he already mentioned that he will start his season with the GP series. I find it interesting that Shoma doesn't feel like he has to start the season normally and compete early, but it makes sense especially if he's been having motivation issues since before Worlds 2023. He calls the shots now and there's no need to rush.

I thought the same thing, although the lineup at Cup of China isn't super strong. Even at Sk Can last season, I found myself wishing he had done a Challenger before that event.

For the Japan Open, I don't think the prize money means much at this stage of his career. 1st place team splits $80,000, 2nd $60,000, 3rd $40,000. He needs to get a free skate too! I wonder if there will be any time while Stephane is in Japan performing in Friends On Ice. Or maybe he has an appointment with David Wilson we don't know about?!

Shoma already let go of an easy USD 30.000 individual appearance fee by withdrawing from WTT last season. Team Japan didn't even have to win for him to get that. Ashley Wagner was saying in her podcast with Adam Rippon that she would have just gone to WTT to skate if she was in Shoma's position.

Too bad but this is a nice lineup.

Yes to the David Wilson part. Hope so. He's very busy these days but hope he has time for a good program for Shoma if not this year then next.
