LOL now Rio also said after his performance at JNats Gala (Medalist on Ice) that he did the starfish because he wants to imitate Shoma 😂

Shoma asked Yuma the "What are you doing for Christmas?" question during his interview at Medalist on Ice! I can't believe Shoma asked him that question, knowing how much he seemed to hate being asked it as a competitor! :LOL: I guess every job comes with certain responsibilities...

It was a very good short documentary of Shoma's career, with some comments from Takahito Mura and Stephane. But it's all in Japanese though (except Stephane's parts where he talked in English). Some really good photos, it went down the usual memory lane of Shoma's career beats (Mao, can't do 3A, did 3A, success, Worlds 2016 failure, 4F, Olympics 2018, 2019 slump and everything after). He really lit up once they talked about Stephane - it's really clear Shoma remembered that part of his career very fondly.

When I first got into figure skating and started listening to Shoma's interviews in Japanese, I noticed right away how soothing his voice and manner of speaking sounded! I even started copying his accent a bit when I spoke Japanese (I think my colleagues where quite surprised 😁)
