What I have been waiting for: we have our Shoma and Nathan reunion!! Shoma has interviewed Nathan for Fuji TV, will share when I find the footage:
Edited to add: its them boys
It was SO good to see Nathan! The crowd got so excited. And the bonus -- seeing the boys together! Now if they only could have laced up their skates and come out on the ice and done one of their stellar duets! Shoma's skating skills, still the best in the business according to what I've seen this weekend. What I have been waiting for: we have our Shoma and Nathan reunion!! Oh my gosh. Galliamov always LOVED Sho. Great memory.
Ice Brave training
He is SO perfect for these competition activities. He has walked in their shoes / skates and understands exactly the pressures and expectations they are dealing with.I'm really happy that even though he has retired, Shoma seems to be able to get the opportunities to support the active skaters on the front lines of competitions. Not many people can speak from experience when it comes to facing the multiple quads era so it's great that he can help his juniors when he can!
Yes! I really am surprised at how he is able to take on a role that's so supportive and also protective of his juniors, yet he does it in a very non-disruptive way. It makes me want him to try studying psychology one dayHe is SO perfect for these competition activities. [Final Day of the World Figure Skating Championships] (March 30, 2025, TD Garden, Boston, Massachusetts, USA) Shoma Uno (27), the two-time world champion in 2022 and 2023, spoke to Sponichi by March 29, offering encouragement to Japan’s young male skaters competing for three Olympic spots.
Having retired last season and now working as a professional, Uno expressed his hope that everyone would do their best while avoiding injuries. He advised that if skaters clearly define the purpose of their practice step by step, their training will become much more effective, helping them get closer to their goals.
Uno also reflected on his own career, stating, "When I was competing, I was fully focused on the sport. I didn’t pay attention to anything else. Even if there are discussions about the figure skating world declining, I think it’s okay for us professionals to be the ones to worry about that." His message emphasized that athletes should concentrate on achieving their own goals above all else.
They use those with the very young beginning skaters to help them keep their balance when they are first learning. Other than just goofing off, I can't imagine what Sho is doing. What is happening with Sho skating with that heavy penguin ?
