Shoma Uno

Hehe, fans were able to talk to Shoma at Prince Ice World and he has been giving some interesting answers....

Shoma also said, “Ice Brave was originally planned to end in Sendai, but Shin-Yokohama will actually be the final stop. There won’t be a continuation. For Shin-Yokohama, we’ll change the programs.”
That made me think I absolutely have to go see the Shin-Yokohama shows. Are the tickets already sold out? 💦

Ice Brave will indeed end in Shin-Yokohama.
There are no plans for One Piece at the moment either.
But Shoma said, “There’s something I can’t really talk about yet that I’ll be doing, so please come see it.” 😂
So, if you’re able to go see whatever this “something” is, definitely do 😅

I was also able to talk with him calmly at the meet-and-greet.
It sounds like Shoma may have something coming up even after next year. He mentioned that he’s working on dance lessons.

I love this photo from Kyodo a lot ahahahah:

The boy who used to say, “Being told ‘happy birthday’ feels strange—it’s not a day when I did anything; if anything, it’s a day I should be the one saying thank you,” has now turned 28. Everyone, celebrate him more.

Happy Birthday Shoma 🤣🥳🎉 may you always be happy, healthy and wealthy 😁

Also his mother said this which I thought was very lovely:

Until a few years ago, his birthday always fell right before a match, so there was never a celebratory mood. But now, I wish I could tell my past self that I’d be throwing the most fun party ever for my son’s birthday—even though he isn’t here. I’m incredibly happy!! Thank you for this timeline version.

Time for the Shoma birthday bash. The participants know he won't be there, but that's ok! It's still fun to have a celebration in his honor. (Darn. No sound to the video)

Happy Birthday Shomajesty! Thank you for all the amazing memories. I never thought going to Skate America 2015 would change my life. Love this photo -- 18 about to turn 19. Skate America 2016. Still has the old face.

It's a little early to celebrate here, but--

Happy birthday to Shoma!!! May he always be an awesome little legend and may wonderful opportunities always come his way! 😁 🎉🎁🎂🍖🎮

I admit, I also didn't expect my life to be changed when I went to see the Grand Prix Final in 2018, and I didn't expect to become a Shoma fan either. And yet, he somehow found a way into my heart with his intense performances and his endearing honesty. He has been an inspiration for me (and many other fans, I'm sure), an inspiration in the best possible way, and I hope he keeps on inspiring others...

Just thinking that Shoma's 27th year really brought a lot of memories for me... when he had his birthday last year I was so sure I wasn't going to Japan again for shows because I went twice in 2024 to watch him. But then he announced Ice Brave, and so I went. And had one of the best times in my life watching him.

I don't know what to expect for Shoma's first full year as a retired skater, but so many things have happened. Many things I thought would be impossible for him to do, suddenly happened in the most unexpected of ways. Even those silly McDonald's ad videos!

From making a Twitter account and going viral so many times that he got quite a lot of followers for a retired skater who don't get covered by media often. From making his own ice show with the songs that he used, not only skating singles but learning to skate together and do ice dance elements with Marin. From parting ways with Stephane as coach and student, to skating together, touring together in shows as fellow professional skaters and artists. From reaching out to professional gamers during COVID to be good friends with them (he took them skating!) and finally be able to participate in gaming events as an avid and capable gamer himself.

So... in the beginning of this 28th year, I wish Shoma all the best, and for good health and happiness to him and the people he loves! And I try not to expect anything and enjoy whatever comes next for him.

UNO cafe for Shoma's birthday yesterday. The family was able to take home the Emma flower arrangement sent by fans for Prince Ice World Aichi and it's so cute! Also on display is Blue Turandot and Maroon Grespi costumes.

The Uno dogs were also our in full force:

Very sweet message from Mother Uno.

Birthday festivities went off without a hitch! I'm just grateful to have been able to celebrate with you all. The staff came prepared with lots of ideas. Can we call it the end of the year? I've been thinking about it, but it seems that Harima will continue to do fun things, so I'll do my best to support him!
Birthday festivities filled up so quickly, and I'm sorry to have turned away so many customers.
Not many days left this year, but the main event of the figure world is holding down this weekend! Everyone take care of your health and cheer on the players!!

Mother Uno

(Incidentally, there are very few reservations for Colon's birthday celebration on 12/24! )He doesn't care

Mama Uno's also dropping some hints about Shoma's future plans in the Instagram post above. I love how she calls Japanese Nationals "figure skating world's main event" because that's so true!!

The birthday celebration has come to a successful close!
I’m truly grateful that we were able to celebrate together with all of you. The entire staff prepared for it while sharing many ideas.
At one point, I even thought, “Maybe the (birthday celebration) this year will be the last one?” But it seems Shoma plans to keep doing fun things going forward, so I’ll continue to support him and do my best.
The birthday event filled up almost instantly, and it really pains me that we had to turn away so many people.
There isn’t much left of this year, but this weekend the figure skating world’s main event is coming up! Please take care of your health and cheer on all the skaters!!

(By the way, there are hardly any reservations yet for Coron’s birthday celebration on 12/24!)

I think you posted what I posted.
Different translations! Especially the part about Shoma's mother thinking that this birthday celebration may be the last one she will hold in the cafe, in your translation it sounds more like she's calling it the end of the year for the cafe.

It's notable, because she wrote she may hold another birthday celebration again next year because Shoma is likely to do some fun things in the future, and knowing the fans who come to the cafe for the celebration and what the celebration looks like, it's very likely to be skating-related activities. It also connects to what Shoma said during the Q&A session at Prince Ice World Aichi last weekend....

So we get to pick the one we like the best. Awesome!!!
