Wow, though I wonder how C/L are feeling about now. This really sets up an interesting fd, since C/L are skating to the same music (maybe not the same cuts) as V/M.
more like team zueva vs team schpilband

Thanks for this AHB. I have been considering switching from cable to DirectTV, so that I could watch skating via Universal Sports online subscription as I had done the last few seasons. 1795's post made me wonder if Universal Sports was now only providing one edited stream for both tv broadcast and online viewers, rather than both the edited tv broadcast and the full live stream that they offered previously. Good to know the full online stream is still available.I'm not sure what you mean. I saw all the teams on my Universal stream. No problems.
- French had the most entertaining program. I was expecting to hate the program, but it was just so cheesy it worked for me. By worlds this should be a lot of fun.
Exactly this. I really love this program. It absolutely suits them, and will be a great contrast to Carmen. I really love how the polka and rest of the program blend so seamlessly. The technical elements are completely fixable. V/M always improve throughout the season. Next outing will more than likely be 10 points higher. I don't have a problem with their PCS scores so high. Their skating skills, interpretation, unison, beauty, quality edges, and so on are really in a class by themselves. It's simply divine. You'll notice there are no 10's in the score sheet this time. By the end of the season I'm sure there will be.

Zueva should call in a known technician, or send her students elsewhere for a week, for Yankee Doodle and step sequence boot camp. (I'm not sure we can blame this entirely on Zueva, since the Canton teams did miss levels on their pattern dance sequences last year even with Igor. And none of his teams this year earned level 4's.) They need a specialist for this. V/M were just off a little on the twizzles, and they are capable of doing much better. I expect the lift will be changed.
I just looked at Madison and Zach. Oh my, they definitely seem to have been underscored by a lot!
Those who are unbiased experts on ice dance, what makes C/L so much better than H/D?

I have Universal Sports on Dish. The only way to get Universal Streaming is if you have it as part of your TV package. If you do, it's free. If you investigate switching, check out Dish as well as Directv.
get dish if at all possible! so much better than DirecTV
Zach had a big wobble on the YP sequence. You really need some glasses, when you watch american skaters, because you will never fail to call a wuzrobbed.
Did you watch the stream today? Did you have any trouble with ads in the middle of performances. (I didn't but others did.) Sorry to get off on a tangent.
It comes down to quality. In the TES, H/D had some issues in the Yankee Polka, which really kills the points. C/L are just smoother and cleaner with the elements. And they had a ton of speed to go with that. They won on levels and GOE as compared to H/D. In the PCS, C/L are very smooth, skate really close together as if they are almost 1 person, and have good edges. It's not the quality of V/M, but it definitely is better than any of the other teams at Skate Canada International.
Unbiased? Nope. But I think C/L have better unison and skating skills. Their lift flowed better. I think H/D are also hurt by the fact that their strongest asset here was choreography, and that isn't a huge plus in the SD (only interpretation translates into straight factoring). H/D had timing issues in the second set of the Yankee Polka too. They were underscored, but not by a lot.
Thanks for your detailed response to my question. Now that you point it out, I can see where C/L were a bit faster, smoother and skated closer together. I thought it must have something to do with technical difficulty because I thought the performance levels between C/L and H/D were similar.
