Skaters on Team Japan

Her jumps look pretty solid! Team Hamada is slowly taking over Japanese ladies' skating.

And physically, she already looks like a senior skater too. If she can keep the jumps and polish everything else, then she could become very successful. Easy peasy, I know...:p

From Team Hamada, it looks like Mariko Kihara has moved to train at Montreal so it might be getting a little too crowded there.

I really like Iwamoto, when I saw her video I was surprised she placed so low at junior nats. There's lots of competition in Japan and she's a little older so it's great to already seeing her get this opportunity, I hope she gets a jgp too! I'd like to see her make the podium but between Marin and the Korean girls it'll be super hard. I'm interested in seeing Keijim Koshiro and Yuto too of course.

Interesting to see Kihara moved to Montreal. I really hope she can do well this season.

Yuna Aoki
Marin Honda
Kokoro Iwamoto

Akari Matsubara
Yuna Shiraiwa
Mako Yamamshita (Jr. Nationals 2015 FS)
Yuhana Yokoi

Random thoughts.
Wasn't expecting Rin to stay junior, relieved that YunaA is on the list, I’ve never seen Akari Matsubara skate although I’ve heard her name. I think she was the closest rival to Wakaba in Tokyo last season. No Rinka Watanabe on the list?!
I didn’t know Tatsuya Tsuboi was old enough to compete as a junior. Sad that Naoki Oda isn’t on the list. I hope all the boys do better than they did last season.

Thank you for updates! Seeing how busy Marin was with other competitions this month, I'm not surprised she won't be there. A bit sad, but that won't change my plan to go to this JGP, anyway. :) Looking forward to seeing their programs live! :cheer:

Yuto Kishina posted this pic to his Instagram.

My auntie feels~

About JGP, I admittedly don't know much about the girls but glad to see Yuna Aoki listed since I really like both her & Yuna S. I'm also looking forward to seeing more from Yuhana Yokoi after watching and enjoying her DOI performance.
As for the boys, so happy Yuto and Sena were assigned the 2nd & 3rd spots for JGP Yokohama. (Also, Yuto at Asian Open, yay!) After it was announced Kazuki would skate in Japan, I figured Koshiro would get JGP France, then either Taiichiro or Mitsuki for Czech Republic.
And I was actually about to ask if anyone knew Tatsuya Tsuboi's age since I'd been unsuccessful in my search online. Don't know why but had a feeling he might be age eligible for Jrs this season. I was really impressed with his performance at Jr Nationals last year.
Anyway, excited for the competitions to begin. Good luck to everyone participating in Asian Open next week!

I guess she is still injured.

I hope she will recover soon.

That’s too bad. I was looking forward to seeing how she’ll do at JGP. I hope she heals properly by Tokyo sectionals.

Today's news clip featuring Shun Sato.

He is trying 3A already :reye:

He’s already attempted them in competition last season :drama:
