From what FSU posters are saying, Irina has chronic bronchitis, which means she is prone to these infections on a somewhat regular basis.

I was thinking this is probably the reason she didn't do the test. She probably haven't been feeling well. I feel bad that she has to deal with this every year. It came a little earlier this year but it gets in the way of her stamina for these competitions.
