Snow Day!!!! Yahoo!!!

We had a whopper of a snow storm today. I headed off to work at 6:00 am only to learn that all our Campuses were shut down for the day; so I had to turn around and head back home. Was I relieved. It is chaos here on the West Coast when it snows. Even our transit system can't handle it. Thanks to Mother Nature I had a day off!

We got some snow on Eastern Ontario, but we are used to it. And the snow plow cleaned up the streets right away, so we have no such thing as a day off due to the snow.

Are you in Vancouver? Then did you go to the Nationals? Lucky you.

We got it, too. It was a strong one. I was just hoping the roof wouldn't fly off lol

We didn't get the snow. We got the wind, and temperatures hovering close to -50 Celsius. I had actual icicles form on my eyelashes. I blinked and almost blinded myself. This is my first winter in Winnipeg. I don't mind the cold, but this is a bit much.

Brace yourself for 6 months of winter in Winterpeg (October to April).

I've lived in Winnipeg for 2 winters before moving to Ottawa. I can tell you that Ottawa felt like tropical zone with temperature hovering around minus 15 to 20 C on average. It was nice.

I've lived in a few places. Grew up outside of Montreal and in Eastern Ontario. I was in Waterloo, ON for school, then lived in London, ON for a few years. Most recently, I came from Toronto after spending two years there.

While this cold has been crazy, I will not miss the humid and sticky summers of southern Ontario. I'll take cold over that any day.
