Katie Ormerod (Great Britain) fractured her wrist in training today. She slipped off of one of those gigantic rails. This course is serious!!

Poor Katie... now she broke her heel training and has to get surgery tomorrow

Unfortunate news about the halfpipe - the iPod is out after suffering a very bad concussion at the X-Games.

As a fan of cool nicknames this is a big shame, especially since he's the reigning Gold Medallist, however it's good to see he's been careful with his health.

I’m really disappointed in the goggle game this year. Those half yellow half orange Oakley’s :roll5:

On a positive note: Stale Sandbech is so clean!! I hope he or Marcus Kleveland win!

The Women's Slopestyle Qualification was supposed to be starting around now, but the weather is really bad. At the moment, the graphic says it will not start before the hour.

There was a discussion shown on screen about 5 minutes ago where one of the officials was telling the competitors that they were going to extend the training until quarter to the hour and then make a decision. But whether they will be able to run it or not, I don't know.

i never understand slope style scoring, it seems that they overly prefer creativity and difficulty over beautiful execution. (For example, I could not understand how Ståle Sandbech lost to Sage Kotsenberg in 2014...)

Because of the Women's Slopestyle Qualification not being able to be held yesterday, the FIS have decided to let everybody into the Finals, where there will now be 2 runs instead of the usual 3.

Watched women's slope style, I thought they said it was qualifying. Then it was 3 runs reduced to 2 for the gold medal due to high wind. The winds kind of ruined the competition. Those poor girls were doing flips 20 feet in the air at speed and then hit with sudden huge guests of wind. The wind affected the biggest tricks. Jamie Anderson of US won.

Chloe Kim, gold medal fave in half pipe, number 1 qualifier. US has 4 qualifiers out of 12.

Snowboarding competition should introduce new and better scoring system like FIgure Skating did. Every trick should have a value and +/- GOE for execution. Style, ease of landing and creativity points for PCS too. So spectators and commentators can easily understand why snowboarder X performed better than snowboarder Y.

IMHO.
