...thanks for clarifying that. Since the judges apparently watch much (all?) of the practices I'm sure they knew that. (or maybe you could hear it "live" in the arena but it didn't come through on TV) I hope Michelle considers this issue for future music selections because the crowd always roars at the end of her program. To the innocent observer like me who didn't know there was a "quiet" part of the music still going on, it struck me as a very odd ending and didn't *appear* to be *with* the music. The judges are the most important thing, obviously. But Michelle is such a great skater, why not leave the best possible impression with the fans as well?

Or....maybe my hearing isn't what it used to be.

If she uses the same SP at World's which I assume she is going to, I will watch (listen) more carefully for that.

I thought the very same thing last year about that music ending. What surprises me (although it shouldn't) is Dick knew that-he knew it last year also.
Of course he also knows what a flutz is-in fact he's been pointing them out for years. Right up until ...well you know who skates, then its perfect technique. Go figure.:\

Amber is so long and lean, she would be such a lovely skater if she would just stretch out her line more and hold her spirals. I think she is very nice to watch anyway but those seem like pretty basic improvements she could make. I was so happy for to do so well.

He knew it because when Pasha (at the time, known as Oksana) Grischuk and Yevgeny Platov skated to it, they received the same criticism. However, the person who said there's a wind hushing in the background is right- I have the CD, and the hushing wind lasts for about ten seconds.

The judges know that it lasts longer than the last note of the music; however, the judges don't like soft, inaudible endings like that one. It was one of the criticisms that Lu Chen's Rachmaninoff program received- that the ending was almost inaudible (I think one of the only criticisms). It would've been nice to see her finish like Sasha- right out of the spin. That shows tremendous control.
