Spokane fires today.

It wasn't clear to me from the news stories that the "caught arsonist" had started all 3 of the recent Spokane fires. So there may be more than just two.

The drones impeding fire fighting is just sad.

It is not clear to us either. Of course, I can tell you my Dept WSP and the county sherrif can not say what they know till they catch all arsonists, which of course you can never do. If its a power line or burn barrel, that's a different story.

People who ill eaglly fly drones are entitled people who think they have a right to do what they want with rules. Even if it hurts others. I like the Japanese school system, personally, where you are taught to respect others.
There are lots of good people around...some are offering to pay for the cremation of all the dead pets.....
Have good thoughts for our fire fighters tomorrow. No matter where you are, its a dirty and dangerous job. Sometimes the wings come off the planes.....
2015... He is still around. (I will not show pics of wings coming off of airplanes, but you might be able to imagine the G loading on wings going into canyons and pulling up....)

The Colorado 302 airlift wing and Montana Airguard do something really cool.
In fire season, they take the old war horse C130 and slip a fire pack in the back of the plane. a 3,000 gallon fire pack. And use them to fight fires. They can even fly through smoke with IR technology. The crews love it!

These next two days will be telling in the live of Spokane...gusts to 25 or so. 90s...10 percent humidity. Lots of Hot spots. Only 2,000 fire fighters on the lines from 20 states. Bless them all. (If you live in the Pacific NW, you can recognize many of the landmarks in the film)

Yesterday, very near a remote farm complex, a fire started. (I select Satalite view on "Watch Duty"....) In a ripe wheat field.
Today, its 1500 acres and almost took out the town of Mauldin ...again..... light winds. There is another 600 acre fire near Colfax...seemingly started in the middle of nowhere (combine?) These are all sad...Spokane firestorm 2026 was caused by a calculating arsonist....hard to stop if the wind is up....but these fires were human caused....probably through being careless.
Have good thoughts for the families of the dead fire fighters from Canada throught California. Send rain. Lake Mead is at its lowest level since it was filled. The Danube is at its lowest level in 200 years. Scuttled German ships full of explosives and sea mines are being exposed. And Nuclear reactors dont have enough cooling water....


This is all you can do with a 1500 lb sea mine that suddenly appears after 75 years.

1. Good news. They were made with pre atomic age steel worth a fortune.
