Stanislava Konstantinova

Zhenya, Polina, Alina, Anna, Stasya, Alisa F, Radio, Maria + home spot Yulia/Liza/Serafima.

In juniors: Angel, Dunya, Sasha, Anna, Vika, Katya Kurakova - don't know about others. Probably Lozko and ABBA girl. But better discuss it in this thread.

dont forget KillBill-girl, Doshirak-girl and Cockroach-girl

... and shut one's eyes to the facts is more than stupid.
Facts are she has the chance to participate in next year's GP as shown above by multiple posters.
Therefore, calling 6th place in Worlds her Waterloo was stupid and nasty.

a)No one was giving FAKTS. They are all daydreaming.

b)Calling 6th place in Worlds her Waterloo was NOT stupid OR nasty, but pure reality for Russian standards.

She got 162.84 points. According to Russian Nationals she would be worse then Lozko at place 15. See:

She is such an expressive, beautiful, tiny and smart young lady - totally unforgettable one, she had learned how to do everything already, now she just need to learn how to be confident and consistent. Hope, she will improve this part next season. Good luck!

:agree: I hadn't paid much attention to junior ladies before but Stasya caught my attention this season, so I've followed them more closely thanks to her, lol! It's refreshing to me that she's not just another skater in Eteri's mold, and is developing in her own time with a hardworking but caring coach by all accounts. Anna P followed a similar path, being a relatively late bloomer by current Russian standards, and I hope Stasya eventually enjoys the same kind of success.

She's a very expressive young girl with a huge talent, perfect technique and intense emotions. It is always a pleasure to watch her not only on the ice but in life.Oh, and how she gives interviews....!!!!!! Unforgettable! A very smart and educated young lady))).

Stasya has given an audio interview on St. Petersburg's Sport FM. There is a recording in her VK group.

Some interesting information:

Stasya's father, who also took part in the interview, is a former karate champion. He sounded extremely supportive and generally like a doting dad. When they had any doubts about Stasya's ability to get somewhere in skating, her coach always dispelled their doubts. He said that they had never attempted to force Stasya to train if she didn't want to, and realised she was serious about figure skating when she had to get up at six in the morning day after day to start training at 7 am as a child, and never begged her parents to let her stay at home and sleep instead. Stasya has a five-year-old sister, Kristina, who also does figure skating and has been told that she has very good prospects.

They train 5-6 hours 6 days a week - that's ice+choreo+physical training. Ice time is 1.5 hours in the morning and evening. It's 9-10 people on the ice and there is a polite atmosphere. Stasya has trouble with steps and often falls on the step sequence - no surprise there. So she often spends virtually the entire practice session working on her step sequence. She commented on the words from their choreographer Olga Klyushnichenko's interview earlier this season that Misha Kolyada is more independent while she needs a lot of attention by saying that unfortunately she doesn't always understand things right away and she needs a lot more effort and careful instruction to get something.

She thinks her problems at Junior Worlds had to do with wanting to do well too much and putting too much psychological pressure on herself.

She still doesn't know whether she'll go senior next season - I honestly don't see any point in keeping her in juniors for another season. She has at least one senior GP event by SB and there are more than enough contenders for JGP spots without her. Fedichkina and Lozko are staying in Juniors because they are well down the list and they are two years younger anyway.

She's 28 on the season's best list... and I only count 3 skaters above her that are ineligible to move up.

So she's not guaranteed a grand prix.

I kind of would like to see her get a grand prix if only because I'd like to see as many different people get an assignment, but she kind of under performed at the big international events this year. The solo jump for juniors next year is the 3Lz, so even if she doesn't get a grand prix assignment it probably is a good idea to skip juniors and just do challenger series events.

People have already counted available spots vs eligible skaters and she gets one under normal circumstances.

I looked up the details and she is #12 on the second round by SB (out of at least 20 spots in that round), so she is pretty much guaranteed one if they decide to take it. I am certain that if it was up to her or her coach, she wouldn't stay in Juniors. Valentina has already said so earlier this season. Unfortunately, it's not their decision, it's up to the Fed and the Fed obviously hasn't made up their minds yet.

She is not guaranteed a grand prix assignment... and no one anywhere has said that. A couple people may have predicted it, but I don't think they've really thought things through.

There are 8 eligible Russians ahead of her on the seasons best list who are all guaranteed one spot on the Grand Prix. The US, Canada, and Japan(EDIT:NHK has invited 3 Russians recently) are unlikely to pick more than 2 Russians which leaves 15 potential spots at a maximum. There's a good chance that Russia will have to use their host picks to ensure others(let's say Tsurskaya and Tuktymysheva) get two spots. The Russian grand prix event is first so they can't sub out a skater who performs bad at a previous event.

Frankly, I would rather see Konstantinova rather than Leonova or Tuktymysheva... but those two are guaranteed at least one assignment. If I were the Russian fed I wouldn't even submit Leonova's name to be picked to make room for Konstantinova but I doubt they do that.

-------
Edit: Let me put it this way... I think it's about 50-50 whether she gets an assignment or not.

I think the Fed will get her one if it wants to. But right now they obviously haven't decided how many skaters they want to turn senior next season.

No GP events for Stasya. I wonder if it is because she just didn't got any or is it because she is staying in juniors.

Fed should have made their minds by now. Any word about her moving to seniors? She most likely would get the 3rd Rostelecom spot, so, hopefully she will move to seniors.

Nobody has heard anything. I guess the only way is to ask either her or Valentina. I have no idea what the point of keeping her in juniors may be, there are more than enough junior ladies and she'll be 17 in July, but it looks like it's still likely.
