Where is the list of subs anyway? I know it floats around and gets reposted, but my brain it not helping me find it.

I wonder if Mariah Bell might be able to snag a spot now, I think she is reasonably high on the list now if you include this season... but the feds seem to play by their own rules. Adam and Romain are already at TEF, so her coaches are already making the trip, slipping her in would be pretty painless I would think. Plus I would love to see Romain and Mariah get a GP together.

I took Tyler out of the list since it's clear she's not going to be considered for the other GP (and added Weinzierl to the list). Meita is already in France and Sakhanovich can't go to RC because there's already three Russians there.

Someone on FSU mentioned that the rules state they're not obliged to replace W/D skaters unless the total number drops to 10 (for singles) or 8 (for dance).

However, most feds seem willing to replace late in the game. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Angela Wang and Mariah Bell replace their colleagues. That was the case with Jason last year (Grant Hochstein got his spot at NHK.)

IMO, one should go to Bell and the other to Kim. They've both proven themselves quite convincingly early in the season.

No, they cannot make an exception. If they did, there would be no end to the number of Russian skaters at any event.

It's official. Polina, Tyler, and Angela have drop out of their Grand Prix because of injuries. Polina is going to try for the NHK trophy.

TEAM USA ANNOUNCES GRAND PRIX SERIES EVENT WITHDRAWALS

(10/12/16) - U.S. Figure Skating announced today that three athletes have withdrawn from 2016 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series events.

Reigning U.S. silver medalist Polina Edmunds has withdrawn from the 2016 Rostelecom Cup as she continues to recover from a right foot injury. She has resumed full training while continuing rehab and plans to compete at 2016 NHK Trophy.

Tyler Pierce is recovering from a lumbar sprain and has withdrawn from Trophée de France next month. She is slowly resuming training under the guidance of her medical team and coaching staff.

Angela Wang withdrew from 2016 Progressive Skate America due to a right ankle injury. She has resumed light training with support from her medical team and coaching staff.

"I want to represent myself and Team USA to the best of my ability," Wang said. "Unfortunately, I’m not in a position to do that at this time. My team and I are working hard to get back to full training so I can finish the rest of the season strong."

Mariah Bell, who has won a pair of ISU Challenger Series medals this season, has accepted an invitation to compete at 2016 Skate America.

I'm dying to see Raf in the K&C with Mariah - I imagine after being with Kori, Raf is quite a change for Mariah in that regard.

Three parts bad news :sad4: -- esp. for Angela and Tyler, who had only one GP assignment each.
Fingers crossed that Polina will be able to compete at NHK as planned.
Wishing all of them well with their recoveries.

I'm dying to see Raf in the K&C with Mariah - I imagine after being with Kori, Raf is quite a change for Mariah in that regard.

Anyone who has seen Raf with Nathan in the Kiss and Cry knows that Raf can be downright gentle and visibly demonstrative with his support and affection. As Kori-like (or quite close to it) as Kori herself, IMO.
That said, how Raf interacts with his skaters can vary -- to suit the individual skater and circumstance. As would be true of any good coach.

As discussed in this thread, the latest (AFAIK) update: Caroline Zhang had a strong win at regionals -- less than two weeks ago.

Was she with John Nicks in 2012? John Nicks, IIRC, was fairly well-known for making sure his skaters had all the pretty moves - nice spins, spirals, etc. It could be the move to Raf has greatly increased Ashley focus on the jumps (duh, given how much her technique has improved) and less on the spins.
