It says here that B&A had a stumble in their CD, which might explain their marks. I haven't seen B&A's OD and FD yet, and only some parts of Domnina and Shabalin's FD, their Tango is very strong. I think this competition will be decided in the Free Dance.
YES THE ZARETSKIS ARE IN 4TH!!!!
HOPEFULLY THEY CAN MOVE UP IN THIRD and GET THE BRONZE
Hey I got a great idea to end this debate of BA vs BS give the Zaretskis the gold
Dom/Shab-great another held up russian pair.....this is why the sport is going down in popularity, the results often appear to be fixed, and the Russians always win...
please do not flame me
AHA they stumbled and I guess that's what explains it well. I was fixing to say, that Belbin and Agosto are definately a better team than the Russians. We'll see only the free dance will tell what happens. I certainly hope that the Russians don't emerge the way that Navka and Kostomarov did in 2003 by going undefeated all season.
If you mean that N/K went undefeated in 2003, they won bronze at Europeans and were fourth in DC after Bourne/Kraatz, Lobacheva/Averbukh, and Denkova/Staviyski. L/A won gold in Malmo and DenSta won silver. Grushina/Goncharov beat them at least once in the GP earlier in the season.I certainly hope that the Russians don't emerge the way that Navka and Kostomarov did in 2003 by going undefeated all season.
Looks like Senft/Gislason and again going to be challenged throughout the season by Girard/Yaegar. I believe that S/G had an injury last season so, in spite of G/Y's strong performances, their placement ahead of S/G remained perhaps a little questionable. Personally, I have thoroughly enjoyed G/Y each time I have seen them, on tv and live and don't mind S/G but there seemed to be a push for S/G at the national level.
Very interesting. Looks to me like a bit of the backlash against B/A's meteoric rise continues. And don't get me wrong, I'm sure D/S are a quality couple, but this smacks to me of the deliberate insertion of the next dominant Russian team. It was practically inevitable. In fact, I'm pretty sure I predicted exactly this kind of movement in at least one post around the time of N/K's retirement. Suddenly D/S are challenging two-time world medalists and Olympic silver medalists? Nah, this is politics.
