Takeshi won't skate at Worlds

Today, Japan Federation decided to send Yamato Tamura & Daiske Takahashi to Worlds. So, Takeshi Honda will not skate at Worlds.
Injury on Takeshi's right ankle is bad, so our Federation think he can't skate well at Worlds.

Yagudin,Abt,Goebel and Honda won't be there. Oh my God!

That is sad news. My heart goes out to him. Hoping very much for him in the future that the heel heals and he's back on blades.

Evgeny will be a big favorite, but I feel like the other two spots on the podium will be wide open for the men with several candidates who on a given day can medal. Should be interesting.

I am sorry to hear that the reigning World bronze medalist will not appear to defend his placement this year. It must be devastating to work so hard throughout the summer and fall and basically have your season end without even taking part in your own country's Nationals. However, hopefully this will allow Honda's injuries time to recover (trying to avoid the word play Joesitz used).

However, at the same time, I'm happy that Yamato Tamura and Daisuke Takahashi are going to have a chance to show what they've got at Worlds, especially after last year, in which Japan only sent Takeshi to Worlds even though they had an extra slot to fill. While I admit that Tamura and Takahashi aren't up to Honda's standard, skating in Dortmund should be a good learning experience, and they should be able to keep Japan's two slots for 2005.

This makes me very sad. I hope that Takeshi takes the time to recover fully and comes back stronger than ever next year.

I feel very sorry for Takeshi and I'll miss him very much at worlds. On the other hand I think it was a pretty smart move from Takeshi not to compete at 4CC, his qualifying event for worlds while still being injured and another wise decision of his fed not to send him to Worlds and give him the necessary time to cure himself.

Hope he recovers soon and will continue to skate next season as strong as he did in 2002+2003 and even better.

I can't believe all the men beeing injured this season........it's so sad, I just hope they can all recover to compete soon...next season...but ok...Yagudin won't..
