Tatiana Volosozhar & Maxim Trankov

I commented on one of Max's instas "3T+3T please Max :p " and he replied "no thanks."

Haha I saw that too. I wonder if he said that because they already plan to do a 3+2+2 combo , or simply because he can't do a 3+3. I know Tanya can and I also remember Mmax saying he was once able to do a 3A when he was still a single skater. Imagine then doing Sbs 3 axels!

Btw, it's officially 1 week till their wedding and things have been suspiciously quiet here. hmmm..

It seems that 3+3 is not worth more than 3+2+2 - I don't know for sure, but I tend to believe more knowledgeable people who have said so. If it's really true, then why do 3+3 which is very likely more difficult than 3+2+2?

It's actually worth a lot more, at least to me.

3T+3T = 8.6
3S+2T+2T = 7.0 (which is what I think they're doing)
3T+2T+2T = 3T+3T+SEQ = 6.9

I don't have a problem with the 3+2+2 other than I think it generally looks awkward and out-of-place, and I'd much rather see something more interesting. I just think they need more on the technical side just to be safe (not that I'm worried about them with the component gap they should get).

There's something like pre-wedding photos on instagram. Tanya is very beautiful in that dress. I'm counting down to their Big day.

Anyway, Max posted in his twitter "One week of freedom😂", he's funny. I think he's waiting for this important day like us.

I was laughing so much at that tweet, "freedom"- isnt this the same guy who said they can barely be apart for 4 hours?  Oh Max... :p

Some people from FSU are acting so ugly and basically bash V/T, saying their jumps are pathetic and aren't worth any points compared to D/R or S/H.
They even started making comments about their wedding and how they will never regain their competitive fire. What is wrong with people.

Anyway, today we will finally get to see the new programs, or at least the layout.
;) !!

Sometimes I feel like :mad:when i read some comments from FSU.

Can't wait to see their new program

Thank you for the correction. I don't know why some people said that 3T+3T is not worth more, or at least not much more than 3S+2T+2T. There is no one who is doing 3T+3T currently, so I didn't know how much it is worth. Too lazy (and busy too) to go and look up the worth in some long ISU document.

I just think they need more on the technical side just to be safe (not that I'm worried about them with the component gap they should get).
But there is always the risk that they won't be able to go clean with more difficulty (and it's not like they have always been clean with the same easier content they do). Of course, that's the risk that other teams face too.

Duhamel/Radford:
"You have to cater your skating to this system. We add up more points with the two quads, because we want to win," Radford said. "A lot of other teams have added quads now. We think that the Chinese team [Wenjing Sui and Cong Han] is our biggest rival this season. They have quads as well. We will see if the Russian Olympic gold medalists [Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov] have learned new elements."

It's not like Volodozhar/Trankov ever needed to do quad throws to beat them before
Although I have to say with 4LzTh, 4STh and 3Lz SBS in FS is very impressive content. Too bad their interpritation is below average. :drama:

It does sound impressive, but it's all on paper. There's a limit to what the human body can take. Even if they do have one clean skate, it's pretty unlikely they will keep this consistancy throughout the whole season.. let alone till 2018.

Yes, I thought about it too. It's so hard to do one quad throw, but two in one skate is very dangerous. Literally.

Interesting news from the open practice: https://instagram.com/p/6SG40rE7Us/

My friend translated it for me and confirmed Max said they could maybe potentially do a quad twist! However he said he cannot promise anything, but even still this has made me very optimistic for their medal chances this season

Edit: what my friend said- "he says there will be no quads, but he'll see about the twist lifts. he says there may be a quad twist lift (if that's what you call it), but he cant promise anything." I personally think it's more likely they'll implement it next season, but we can wait and see~

I'm pretty sure they were doing 4Tw before his surgery last year (I swear I read that). Ugh, the season can't start fast enough.

I think it's great they've managed to potentially get to a quad twist after his arm surgery (im just overly conscious of them pushing themselves oops), but could someone show me a video of them doing a 4Tw? I dont think i've ever seen it! (or at least I have and I haven't realised it, Im terrible at keeping track of this sort of thing )

I too remember reading that in in interview but I don't think there's a video of this. You know, not every time you manage something new in practice you go and upload it to instagram... *cough*duhamelradford*cough*
