Team medals delayed by legal issue

I would never believe Valieva took anything, Eteri would never risk a medal or her reputation… not to mention Valieva couldn’t have smoked pot… it is still very unclear. I believe she might have failed to fill something in the system.
I actually would believe it but that's still opinion and speculation I guess.

Hard to say but if Valieva's scores are not counted I'm pretty sure Canada wins the bronze. This would destroy her chance for the individual 🥇, too. If she's at the center of the scandal, we won't get more information since her privacy as a minor should be respected.

If this was a pre-Olympic failed test, Europeans was only a few weeks ago, would they strip her of the Europeans title? Would she have been tested between Europeans and the Olympics?

Frankly, I don't know, but as I understood it, that was the account that posted the initial info, so I kept checking it for updates (I am not on twitter usually).
I don't know anything about who is running that account so I can't say whether to trust it or not.

I recognize that the skaters seem to like the team event, but I find that (as a fan, of course) it just leaves me kinda fatigued of the whole convoluted, political mess. Blech. Get rid of the TE!!!

As for the current happenings, I would rather just see the medals vacated for the specific athletes involved, if it is a drug testing issue, or perhaps vacate the medals for that whole team, but leave the rest of the medals the same. Many will disagree with that, but implications could be taken as far as recognizing another team should have made the final round and all that implies, etc. Of course, they may move everyone up a place, but I don't know if that's warranted -- we certainly don't have confirmed details.

Would team USA still get their medals? And Japan?
Team USA would get an Olympic gold medal if Russia dq'ed and everyone else would move up a notch. Canada would make the podium. I hope it is not marijuana. I think these drug tests can be ridiculous considering how everyone runs to GNC to take vitamins and supplements to improve performance yet athletes can't take proper cold medicine or cannabis - which is a pain reliever.

They have a reporter on the ground. One of the CBC reporters posted a video of the Inside the Games reporter asking a question at the press conference.
Jackie Wong said just an hour ago that USA Today doesn't publish without verification, and since USA today points a finger at a different skater, I am not sure this isn't a hoax. Unless Team Russia had a wild party in Krasnoyarsk...

That’s a bit scary. Considering I myself take ADHD meds, would I have been under scrutiny if I were ever at the level as an Olympian?

They say the found substance doesn’t enhance the performance… is she or her legal guardians are so stupid that they have failed to submit some medicine???
