Team Russia - Promising Young Skaters

Right now I prefer Nugumanova. Gubanova is obviously talented, but something is missing for me...maybe I just need to see better programs. Nugumanova OTOH blows my mind...she's a freak of nature (in a good way ;) ). I really can't believe how sophisticated she is for her age.
me thinks the same. Nugumanova just radiates joy. And her arm movements, oh god she knows how to use it doesn't she? Lovely! The girl has it.

 I'm told that his is coached by Leonova's coach?

Yes, Evgeni Rukavitsin. He also coaches Menshov, Maria Artemieva, Gordei Gorshkov & a few others. I'd like to see one of his skaters fulfill their potential and become a champion for once...hopefully Dmitry will be the one.

I think I prefer Gubanova. Or not??

I never know  Right now I like Nugumanova because of her movements. The girl pratically dances as she skates

Team Nugumanova for me. Her musicality, refinement, timing, and earnest joy as she takes to the ice... Other skaters could struggle their whole careers to find these qualities; it's simply unfair that she already has it.

Gubanova is a huge talent as well, of course. Her jumps are excellent, and her LP does a good job of showcasing her.

I hope they're both nurtured carefully, because the talent is mind-blowing.

Team Gubanova. :)
Nugumanova is ethereal, quick, vibrant and adorable, but for me, it's Gubanova who has "IT" factor.
She is super elegant, more reserved, sophisticated and beautiful in every single move. Superstar in the making (if puberty treats her gently).
They remind me a little bit Lena and Julia, accordingly. :)

:agree:

Presentation wise, I don't really care to comment much. I can see merits either way. But it did occur to me after watching Gubanova's LP without sound (copyright issue) and then watching Nugumanova's LP without sound too (this was deliberate on my part), that Gubanova is the better athlete and jumper. They are both only 12 though, so who knows what will happen in a few years' time.

I think it's a 3lz-3lo-1lo-3s-2t combo. My mind can't process that.

I really like both girls but prefer Gubanova right now. Nugumanova has amazing musicality but I just think Gubanova has the potential to be the whole package. Nugumanova 3Lo combos make me nervous.
