until there is proof that there was a conspiracy, it's just speculation. there is a good indication that things were crooked, but not proof.

i also felt the 'conspiracy' bit of it was driving the conversation the wrong way. whether or not there was a conspiracy, the fact remains that the judging was biased and unfair. as far as the conspiracy goes, no one seems to have an adequate answer as to how an investigation can even get started. if there's no investigation, it doesn't matter whether or not there was a conspiracy. get one started, and we'll get the thread name changed back

What about the video evidence where Sotnikova flutzed and should have been downgraded on her 3T? If Sotnikova is such a master jumper as reported in the media, why did she do a 3T-3T in the short program?

Why won't the ISU comment on whether the Russian assistants overruled Vanessa Gusmeroli or not? Did the Russian assistants prevent downgrades in the free skate?

Did Alla SHEKHOVTSEVA informed Adelina and her coaches not to try 3Lz-3T in the short program, but that she would be ok to try in the FS?

What other reason could there be that Sotnikova would attempt 3T-3T in the short program, but 3Lz-3T in the free skate?

Were they afraid scrutiny would come after the SP, and they just waited to cheat until the FS?

It would be interesting to know whether Vanessa Gusmeroli called for downgrades in the free skate, but was overruled by the two assistants. The video evidence is clear that downgrades should have been called. Either Ms. Gusmeroli is incompetent, or she was overruled by conspirators. Those are the two possibilities.

The entire sport of figure skating is dead to the general public, because it's not perceived as legitimate competition. It's like WWF wrestling, fixed results, only without the trashy fan base.

Another possibility is that the video evidence from the angle of the technical panel was not clear on those points.

The ISU has more camera angles than casual internet audiences. They absolutely saw everything we saw, in slow motion, with the best technology available.

Either Ms. Gusmeroli failed her job, or she did it correctly and was overruled by conspirators. One of those two things happened.

I haven't laughed much at this thread, but the idea of Brian Joubert trying to uncover a judging scandal based on a Facebook request because "he seems like a nice guy" made me smile.

i dont think anyone would be willing to risk their reputation, livelihood, stab a LOT of people in the back, for this

Also, Hersh was pissed at Speedy's comments regarding conflicts of interest. Hersh considered Speedy's response a joke...but it turns out Russia has many ISU certified judges...why was she the only one sent to ALL of Sotnikova's events this season? What the hell was going on?

She is actually a good candidate. She is the only one of the persons involved having a public face profile. Maybe someone who's got nothing to hide.

Hersh is an interesting guy. He is randomly hateful to a lot of people, including some American skaters.
