and to be clear,

is all they have to 'prove' that is was unfair, for the results to be thrown out? or do you think they would have to have proof of an actual conspiracy?

i would think having proof that it was unfair judging alone would do it, which would be much easier than getting proof of conspiracy, but idk

In 2002 the French judge was known. The pressure and scrutiny were so great they admitted to cheating.

The same scrutiny should fall on Gusmeroli. She was either clean or not. If she was clean and did her job correctly, then she should admit the assistants conspired to overrule her calls.

According to the article (that I will keep referring to) the head of the tech panel, Alexander Lakernik, could overrule the other two? Or do all 3 of them communicate at the same time or does everyone enter their verdicts separately, without knowing how others have voted on levels/edges/dings, etc.? If the latter is the case Olga might not be guilty as has been thought. I really think the tech panel's review process should be examined in this case. Going forward, there needs to be a different system that can better protect integrity and competency of the tech calls.

There has been so much chatter over the past couple of days and so many misunderstandings about what happened in the women’s event. There is no mistaking the fact that a Russian, Alexander Lakernik, was in charge of the technical panel and as controller, could overrule any of the decisions made by the specialists in awarding levels of difficulty – and those levels make a big difference in the point system. (Olga Baranova, the assistant technical specialist from Finland, is by all accounts, quite good at her job.)

Theoretically I could contact, on behalf of you, you, you and you, the French paper L'Equippe, the first one that published about the Russian American judging collusion, to urge them to pursue the affair by interviewing the French judges. But, what should I exactly say? I mean to be persuasive, and not to make it sound futile....

1. Ask them about their report before the Olympics. In fact, the Russians won team event and pairs, and Americans won Dance. The scores for the winners were so large, that they could have made mistakes and still won. Regardless of the placements, the scores were too high to be believed. And then the Russian girls and Gracie Gold experienced the same inflation in Ladies.

2. Why was the same Russian judge used for all of Sotnkova's events this season?

3. Did Gusmeroli call for downgrades? Was she overruled by Lakernik?

And why Yuna's step sequences were not given lvl 4 while Adelina's flat, laborious skating was given lvl 4 . Whether there were disagreements.

Okay, I'll do the following:
A reporter from L'Equippe who covered Sochi events, named Céline NONY, who cried foul on the ladies' judging in an article titled "Un Scandal, Un (One Scandal to Go, literally translated)", published in the same paper. She looks to me like the best person to approach for this. I will look up her email and in the meantime, you guys are welcome to help me with the content of the email.

I love Yuna to death but I think if there is any investigation and anything comes to light it will be Caro gets a gold , Yuna keeps silver, Adelina keeps gold. Just saying. Some people need to see the ENTIRE picture.

Lets not forget the most overall generous judge was in Yuna's corner if you go by protocols!!

And why their journalist can't say the name of the coach that told her about the fix. After all, it was l'equipe who started rumours about the fix.

And the article said nothing about the ladies, which is the only discipline where I noticed any really debatable stuff. No one at all is questioning the order of the medals in the team event. The Question in pairs is whether Pang and Tong deserved the bronze. Frankly, I feel there is no reason at all to believe that the Russian coach would tell L'Equipe the whole truth about things, since it would likely call into question his/her own students' results. My guess is still that the coach is Morozov.

That was my thought also, Morozov.

@verymuchso

L'Equipe article suggested the Russians and Americans conspired to rig the games.

Shouldn't we also ask about the suspect scores given to Gracie Gold? She scored 129 personal best for a clean skate in the team event (which was supposedly rigged for the Russians), but suddenly she scored almost 137 individual despite a fall and other mistakes? The protocols suggest she too would have beaten Carolina and Mao, and possibly Kim, had she gone clean.

It turns out that 3 ladies had very suspect scores...Sotnikova, Lipnitskaia, and Gold. Of course they just happen to be the top American and Russian skaters.

And Gracie did not even have American judge in the individual free skate, which makes her unbelievable high score even more suspect.

As if the Russian judge and added eastern bloc judges were the ones to give her the generous scores....one might wonder why that would happen.

My guess is that there's no any real coach behind it. If there had ever been one, his name would have been known by now.
