The Mrs. P baby thread

Congrats Mrs.P Love the name. Especially she is a saint that is very close to my heart :D

Get ready for your 2 hour sleeps. Babies are the most wonderful thing, and they grow so fast so make sure you capture every moment of your precious times together.

Great comments from Doris.

I have a lot of experience with low milk supply/ poor nursing because my daughter was 2 months premature, and even wrote a couple of advice columns for a support group. I will send you a message because I'm not sure others want to hear the nitty gritty details! :)

We're not doing too bad. Sleep deprivation yes, but she is relatively calm once she's fed, which allows for 2-2.5 hour stretches where I can get some naps during the day and night. She loves to eat (like her mom, I guess! :) ) so I don't see her sleeping through the night until she can absorb food more efficiently.

Speaking of food: Can use any advice for dealing with low breast milk production. It's getting better each day, but it's really easy to get frustrated. We are supplementing with formula/pumped milk so she's not hungry, but it's psychology hard to deal with the fact that I have to spend 20-30 minutes nursing for so little milk while formula takes like 5 seconds (relatively speaking) to make and provide. I really want the breastfeeding thing to work. I hear oatmeal helps (which is what I'm eating right now)

Thankfully no. The fires are up in Wenatchee, which is 2 hours north of me. However, there's no sigh of relief. The relentless heat (100s all week long) and dry conditions makes this area a constant risk for wildfires.

Late to the party but wanted to wish Mrs. P and her family Mazel Tov on the birth of baby Therese P!

I was in WA state last week for a couple of days visiting a friend (but near the Seattle/Tacoma area) and yes, it was very hot and there was talk of possible wildfires. If anyone thinks that WA state is rainy all year, they are mistaken.

Thank you everyone again for your support and well-wishes. Baby T. is now 2 weeks old and she's doing great. She likes to sleep at night, which means that Mom and Dad actually has gotten a few hours of sleep. On her own volition, she's out by midnight and wakes up around 5 or 6 a.m. for a feeding. However, I had been waking up at 2:30 a.m. to give her an additional feeding. But since she's back to her birth weight and eating a lot during the day, the doctor says its okay to let her sleep if she doesn't wake up for a feeding! YAY!

She's turning out to be a leggy girl -- she's grown nearly 2 inches in just two weeks -- she's almost 20 inches. She's tiny otherwise -- she's back at her birth weight which is just north of 6 pounds. My other friends who gave birth this year had given us all their newborn diapers because their babies had outgrown them relatively quickly, and we've used them up quite quickly, lol. We're just at the point where we have to actual buy some ourselves. :D

I'm so glad things are going well with you, Mr. P, and BabyT! From what friends have told me, the first six months are very difficult, but it looks as if you won't be going through all of that-- that's great she's sleeping through the night!!

Again, congratulations to you and your husband on the new addition!!

:cheer:

Mrs. P, so glad to hear that the 2:30 am feeding is a thing of the past. Life gets better from there on, for sure!

Haha. Should have not spoke so soon. She woke up at 3 and 4:30 for feedings last night. But she gave me three more hours of sleep before and after those feedings, so reasonable trade off.

Congratulations Mrs. P! Just saw all of this right now :cheer2:

I hope that you can cherish all the great moments you have with your family!

Baby T turned 1 month yesterday. The time is already flying! She's grown quite a bit but she's still quite tiny. She's the weight of some babies at birth!!

She is sleeping and eating well. Typically down by 10:30 and stays asleep until 4:30 for a feeding then goes to sleep until 7:30, giving mom and dad a nice stretch of sleep. We'll see how long that lasts!

Good little Princess T is making sure her parents get some sleep!

Baby T is now 2.5 months old! She got baptized today. She was so cute in her frilly dress and flower headband.
She is doing quite well. She is pretty much sleeping from 8 pm until 5 or 6. Again we'll see how long this sticks. She has nice head control. She can lift her head sometimes. :)

Aww how cute. How much does she weigh now? I bet she is a great baby! All the best wishes!
