Tim says, what a shame you can get more for a triple-triple than for a quad-double. Not really, if you are talking the same kind of jump. 4T/2T = 10.3, 3T/3T = 8.0.

Also, Tim thinks that the difference between a quad and a triple should be twice the difference between a double and a triple.

The difference between a double toe and a triple toe is 2.7. The difference between a triple toe and a quad toe is 5.0. Not too far off from Tim's suggestion.

Both Tim and Michael complain that the quad is not valued highly enough in the NJS. OK, fellas, now put your money where your mouth is. I will make a donation to the USFS Memorial Fund for each quad I see from the 4 Americans at Marshalls.

Wow, Wow, Wow. She's back although not completely. The practice is very limited so we can not expect too much in the way of tech. But oh, if she gives one of those heart rendering performance of yore. yeah! the tech can go down the drain for all I care.

Will she win? Who cares? Will she win Nats? No matter. It's been too long a time since there has been a Kween on the ice.

I'm not interested in the telephone call ins. I just want to see all of them do their thing before Nats.

Seems like that snowstorm which we got in New York cut into air travel.

I hope Michelle is COMPLETLY healed by Nationals. I would like to see her and Sasha battle it out one last time with BOTH of them skating great programs.

I am still pondering on Tim Goebel's remarks. Is he confident or arrogant?

I am still a fan of his, but I wish he was skating better. Hopefully, he will peak at Nationals and Turino. That was his trend before these last couple of seasons.

I do think he is setting himself to look like a fool if he doesn't land his quads.

He plans on changing his short program for the 2006 State Farm U.S. Championships to include the quad. He said that Evgeny Plushenko, Stephane Lambiel and Brian Joubert will be doing them at the Olympics, and that having one in his program for St. Louis was important.

The subject of the quad and its value came up with Goebel as well.

“Novices at nationals do triple Lutz-triple toe,” he said.

When asked what point value a quad should be worth, Goebel said that whatever the difference in points is between a double jump and a triple—the difference between triple and quad should be twice as high.

“If this is a sport, we need to do the whole Faster Higher Stronger thing,” he said.
Goebel also commented that he would like to be a technical specialist when he's done competing, and that he wouldn't necessary need the instant reply since he can spot a two-footed jump from the upper level of the arena.
His music choices for Marshalls are his Adagio program that he used on Champions on ice and an encore would be his short program.

Kwan looks fabulous! It's unfortunate that she's still not 100% and that her hip is still pretty painful, but it's good to know that she's back on the ice. I hope that she doesn't push too hard at Marshall's and Nationals, wouldn't want her aggravate her hip more. Anyway, I can't wait to see her skate tomorrow.

Mathman - That 'a la seconde' with no hands is tough enough on a floor. It must be grueling for ice. If that doesn't get a level 4, then the Bielman should be a level 1.

She looks so wonderful ... I swear I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes!!! And I don't give a rat's patootie if that makes me an awful "uber" fan .. I am and I'm proud of it!!!

I don't think the news is that bad MM. Yes, she still has pain ... but it sounds as if she's managing it and it is improving. She just has to be patient and not over extend herself.
I'm just so happy she's back ... I'm with you Joe. I don't care anymore about COP or anything else ... I just want to see her skate with that joy again!!!

Did ya'll see where Kwan said she wanted to do the Grand Prix? Did ya? Put that in those naysayers pipes and let 'em smoke it. Ha!

Ok, had to get that out of my system. That extension/stretch looks so painful I started hurting just looking at her picture! But darn, she looks great!!! I just want her to not push herself too hard and not be able to skate for the Olympics or for Nationals. Good for her for being smart!

I am so excited to see her SP. Woohoo, the battle of the tarantulas (ok that's what I called the music because I can't EVER remember how to spell it )

Your first post had me my eyes welling with tears. I'm so with ya. How in the world did she manage to get that stretch - it is incredibly awesome - and lo and behold that edge I'm still worried though - her injury has to be right at the front of her mind - I hope she can skate well tomorrow.
