Did anyone else enjoy himas much as me. He is a fun skater to watch he can only get beter.

Haven't seen his Worlds competition skates yet but his exhibition was adorable. He's a crowd pleaser for sure.

i was so happy that he surprised us all like that. I really wanted him to medal, i feel that he shoudl have.

In his wolrds free skate he jumped lights out. But otherwise he seemed rough around the edges.

Verner has been one of my favourites since Europeans 2004 and I have seen his skating in Finlandia Trophy live. His direction has been upwards and I was very glad for his European medal this season. I have a feeling that next season he will be even better and in next Olympics he will be one of the very top contenders.

Besides being an excellent jumper he also is great in interpreting music, etc.

The thought process

You could almost see his thought process during his worlds LP. He did the first jump and it was like "My friend the quad is with me today, always nice to see you there for me, might as well do another"... so he goes round to set up and instead of the triple something that he had planned, he does a quad in combination.

Then he was like "Coooool! So, since the quads were there, I'll go through the other jumps carefully - no reason they won't be there either".

It was a blast to watch. My favorite performance of this particular worlds.

Tomas Verner has enormous potential and he's a damn good performer. He's not that hard on the eyes either.

I like watching him jump but the rest of his skating does not do much for me. His choreography is quite simplistic I find. He did have a great Worlds, nobody would have picked him to finish over Lysacek or Oda. There will be alot of pressure on him next year, the expectations will now be higher.

Definitely, the biggest surprise in Tokyo.
If you had seen him in Warsaw, it wouldn't have been such a surprise, especially when, as Linny said, his friend the quad showed up.

He has a very nice edges and flow in person. I remember first seeing him in 2003, when he didn't have all of the triples, at least consistently. It's been a thrill to see him go up the ranks and be taken seriously. I hope he gets to use some of his prize money and experiment with different choreographers.

He could be quite a show skater, and he has the looks to draw in the girls and their moms.
