Top Prospects of Russian ladies

Off topic, hey Shayuki, what do you think about these boys? [emoji848]
I don't really follow Men's figure skating, but I found both to be very impressive. Nikolay's skating skills also aren't bad. Somewhat surprised to see boys this good at such an age.

Another competition with over 200 names... :dbana:

Including Kostyleva, Koryakova, Shcheglova, Murashova, and also many other girls which we didn't see yet.
Yes, I've been looking forward to it ever since seeing that Kostyleva would participate in it! Also has Barakhtina.... And Krivonosova and miss tiniest jumps on earth Maria Khabibulina.

Can only hope it'll be streamed...

Me either, I just was curious how the hell two boys of 2009 year were ahead of the others of 07'. Very impressive indeed! So it's one of them on that photo. It remains to learn who is that little girl with him and Akatieva? [emoji848] Btw, it can be she as well, at the very beginning of this video. But I'm not sure.

The hope is dead! No live stream! 😢

Well, at least we'll be able to check a protocol after the competition.

Ugh, she actually lost and took only second place. What the hell? Also, all her jumps were in the second half, unlike the others, but they didn't count them with 10% bonus. She lost in PCS there. But still very confusing results. Or little ladies from other european countries started to show something, or at such age many things can happen? I remember how one Bolgarian prodigy - Sasha Feigin, won ahead of one promising Russian skater. But now she's unstable and shows weak results.

Sofia Kolbasenko (protocol) will skate at Sofia Trophy 2018 this February (06/02/2018 - 11/02/2018) in CHICKS I. GIRLS (1.7.2009 - 30.6.2010) category.

Interesting to see what she'll receive from international judges.

She somehow did an invalid spin, but her rotation speed is quite something! At first I was thinking it's just single jumps. Artistry level is also pretty charming! I wonder how she will skate with lyrical music.

Protocol is up. Interesting results. It's not the first time when I see the name Anastasia Chinnova (2011). Need to follow her as well. She won, and got the second highest PCS. This time Kostyleva didn't make it to the top 3 (very close results), but at least she got the highest PCS.

Barakhtina won her category without questions.

But I wonder about Alena Krivonosova (2010), although she's already in the list with two suns. She got 20 PCS, almost two points higher than the second highest - 18.13. Alena is from the same school as Melkumova. I need to rewatch video with her. [emoji848] Her scores from that competition are here.

Kostyleva fell outside of an element and got very low GOE for the choreo sequence. Interesting.

I wonder if they attempted making the transitions more difficult or if she just had a similar mistake with the choreo sequence as during the 21-24 December competition(leg falling down).

It also is possible that she fell during the choreo sequence I guess, but I think she would have some negative GOE for it in that case.

Krivonosova probably overscored on PCS, even though that's always been her strength. Same coach as Melkumova. She's nice to watch but not that spectacular. Admittedly, she's pretty close to being spectacular(PCS-wise) so such improvement would be possible.

Barakhtina by the way - Very impressive. She's about the same age as Dzepka was in last May and her content's more difficult. Much lower PCS but even so... Triples next season maybe? With this she should be clearly the strongest 2010 if she already was not.

What happened to Mukhortova? I know she was injured but she seems to have lost all of her triples... I almost didn't recognize her when I watched her video... :(:(

She definitely does double jumps on purpose, but I don't get why. Or they're thinking it will help her to gain consistency to jump stable triples, or I don't know.

I really like her but I have to agree. Daria's lutz leans nearly as much as Nugumanova's did a couple of season's ago...

Now this is a sighting I've been looking forward to for what seems like an eternity.

This competition on February 25, Sofia Dzepka in 2 sports category(And name not grayed out, I'll note). 160+ participants at this point in time so there might be some hope of it getting streamed.

I thought that Uliana Vasilieva was just incredible here 2 days ago.
I haven't really paid attention to it before but that's a really odd arm variation on her jumps. She even added it to her combo. Spread out with open, stiff palms. Like stop signs. It goes well with some of the choreo in the program I guess.

On the flip specifically by the way, it's the jump with the most air time here and it has approximately the same air time as Trusova or Shcherbakova triple flip! And she's 8 years old. Also has a perfect, textbook edge on the Flip just like her deep Lutz edge. I almost assumed as she repeats the Lutz and it has such a good edge that it'd be her best jump but actually, her flip is probably her best and the Lutz is repeated simply because it's worth more.

On the rest, she truly has a great presence in this specific performance and the transitions are more complex. Really love this. She's much too good for her category but sometimes it's alright to take it more slowly.
