St Louis food

I am going. As soon as they announced that 2006 Nats are in the best city in USA, I new I would be there. I normally fly home 2 times a year, and typically, January is not the month I choose for a visit, but are you kidding me? I am so there!

As I mentioned before, if anybody has any questions about the city, venue, hotels, etc..please do not hesitate to PM me.

Where can vegetarians eat in St Louis? We're staying across the street from the Savis Center but will be using rail to travel the city...especially on dance compulsaries night.

I don't know how close they are to your hotel or the arena. Hopefully, someone from St. Louis can be more helpful.

How are practices usually scheduled?

It's too bad the two arenas are so far apart. I was looking at the "current" version of the schedule and it's already clear that there will be some tough choices to make.

Mean time, I could not find a preliminary practice schedule up yet (I know it's still really early). I'm assuming that the Sr. practices and probably some Jr. practices will be held at Savvis in the mornings?? Is that how it usually goes? I'm a first timer for this...

Youe best bet would be the Delmar Loop Metrolink stop or Central West End (Euclid St.) stop. The restaurants mentioned above do not ring a bell, and there is not address listed under the link. I would try the Loop first because all the restaurants are on the central street (Delmar) covering only 4 blocks or so. CWE is more of a neighborhood, so it may take a while to find something specific.

I am going home for the Thanksgiving, so I will do my best to hunt some info down.

Downtown is generally expensive, but it is small and is serviced by Metrolink - so in a sence, everything in downtown is close to the rink. Check out hotels.com to get a general idea. If you find something cheap let me know and I will try to tell you based on the address how close it is to downtown/rink.

I would recommend staying in the airport (lots of affordable hotels/motels) - it is about 25 min train drive to the rink stop, maybe even less. The cost of Metrolink is about 3 bucks or so. Most hotels offer free shuttles to the airport. You would want to check with them first of course. But even if you have to take a taxi (everything around airport is under $6), plus the Metrolink - so that's about $20 max per day- you could still save substantial money by staying in Super 8 motel for $60-70 a night vs. downtown Holiday Inn at $130. Over 5 nights or so it makes "cents".
