(Videos) New Season and New Programs!

Here's hoping that Lambiel doesn't get bored -- it's a gorgeous program, and he looks to be in splendid shape.

Thanks for the clip of Joubert. When I watched his SP a few days ago I was pretty sure it was Browning's choreography. Now it is confirmed. Joubert is looking good!

I was impressed with Abbot's SP. The men's field is going to be very exciting this season. Thanks to everyone for posting the clips.

Brian has improve put his program is all arms. It's boring. It needs some levels and lower body movement to match all that arm work. Come on Kurt.

Pang and Tong program looks very promising. I could watch over and over even without the elements.

update

I have updated the list adding a couple more such as Carolina Kostner's SP and LP, Caroline Zhang and Mao Asada's SP. Enjoy!

Carolina's programs look fabulous. Her long is already my favorite one from her, mistakes and all. Her spiral sequence is incredible!

Carolina's SP is just fabulous. I've seen it somewhere else days ago and I kept on watching it again and again and again now I learned every movements by heart!! Especially when she claps her hand before going into the footwork, I just love that part!!
One thing that bothers me ; is she actually wearing black top and tights as her costume for SP?? I mean I seriously doubt that, thinking about all the great Italiano designers who eager to make Caroline's costume...but then what if it's true??
I guess then I'll love her more for her quirkiness:love::love:

Great "unused" music, great choreography, great interpretation...
Wish Carolina all the greatness!!

I really like Mao's footwork in her SP! Working with Tarasova really made her more elegant. Oh, and of all the senior ladies competing, I think Carolina has the best spirals this season.

Here are more videos from the 2007 International Counter Match Japan vs USA competition:

My thoughts:

Joubert - way too much Plushenko with the arm flailing and footwork - WHY? But physically and technically he looks ready for the season.

Buttle - don't like the SP music choice but great choreography and that one move from split to slide is so dramatic and Paul Wyllie-esque! How I wish he'd change his spins though, by now.

Lambiel - hands down the best skater in the world. He's got a flair that no one else has or could possibly imitate. He twists and contorts his body in such unique ways but it's always natural and graceful with him. Love the new SP, we'll see how many different programs he premieres this season!

Chan - excited to see him live!

----

Kostner - how I love her new SP. And how she loves George Winston; she used a selection from Country for her SP in '04-'05 when she won her Worlds Bronze medal and now she's taking a page from Lambiel's book by chosing a Winston interpretation of The Doors, this time "Riders on the Storm." She is so great with powerful piano pieces. And her 3-3 is so consistent! If only she could pull of the 3Z as consistently. Her LP was sort of disappointing in comparison to the SP.

----

Virtue/Moir - they're quickly becoming my favorite ice dance team. Dark Eyes and Umbrellas of Cherbourg offer a really great contrast in music selections from OD to FD, and they have such wonderful play on costume. Her dress for the FD moves so dramatically and matches the movie well.

Delobel/Schoenfelder - I actually disagree with most posters here and enjoyed their new FD. Seems like a good change that allows us to witness their softer side.

No way will she stay with that outfit for the SP, I'm sure she will come out with a beautiful dress for the bigger competitions.

Carolina's dresses are all designed by Cavalli, she usually gets them later on in the season, that's why she probably wore the unitard for the SP. The dress that she wore for the LP at Nebelhorn was the second Cavalli dress for last season's LP (Geisha). However, she didn't wear that one last year. I am sure she will get some stunning new dresses soon :)

I loooooooove the SP. Especially the step sequence and the spiral...

OK.
Just kidding about her wearing unitard as her costume which I think is still beautiful on her;)

But is she getting dresses from Cavalli again?? I love Roberto's gowns and do respect him but I wish Armani could make some of it and give her "less is more" look design-wisely. Though she'll look stunningly beautiful in any outfits...

From the senior men new programmes I have seen so far, my big favourites have been (in no particular order):

- Buttle sp
- Takahashi lp
- Abbott lp
- Verner sp

And I know that from Lambiel I will love what ever he is skating to....

I can't believe nobody has posted Johnny's gorgeous SP so far!
(Liked the music Japanese TV introduced him  !)

Johnny Weir - SP "Yunona I Avos"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmz-VDQwha0
It's quite nice; well choreographed; well skated. What I like about Johnny, he doesn't fling his arms up after each element. He raises his arms with the music.

What if Takahashi, Joubert and Lambiel each do a quad in the SP?

Joe

The only thing that i don´t like of the Weir´s SP is the music, It´s so slow...... but is a good program. He returns to his style, is not original but he will have more points this year :agree:

Takahashi´s LP,is good, but I would like that he was risking more in the music and the style.........In the last part he has seemed me to Plushenko but do not know why :scratch:

I've seen Takahashi's new SP just a minute ago, and GOD!!

I did not know he's trying something different, like hip hop, to something like Swanlake(though arranged in hip hop version)
And he really pulled it out. He was dancing hip hop(especially upper body) and it was awesome. New found respect for him that he's not following anybody's footstep and becoming one of a kind!!

Hope someone will post it soon.

BTW I'm officially in for the men's discipline, with Takahashi, Lambiel, Joubert, Verner, hopefully Yagudin, this is going to be a hell of a competition!!
