Wakaba has been suffering from a fatigue fracture of the right shin since the end of the Olympics. But she did not give up on the World Championships and she went there with a tibia fracture, which must have been extremely painful.

Found a translated interview with Wakaba - her injury has healed, she is now recharging and she chose to take a break from competition because she didn't want to not give skating her 100%.
Her plans were to run a marathon this month!
