Wakaba Higuchi

I'm in love [emoji7]

Still trying to find my footing in the skating world as I'm relatively new to the whole thing, but Wakaba really moved me. She's wonderful.

Don't try quads Wakaba! Don't wreck your body! Just get a nice clean 3A and you'll kill it every time :)

That's what she said she's waiting for her 3A to be operational, so I do not think she'll do quads.
I like the fact that she thinks to learn dance for her future programs, level arthistique is a faultless for her.

She seems very level-headed when it comes to her jumps and how she's pacing herself so I trust her to work it out. Having a stable 3A would already be a major coup and she's propel herself way up in the field. I'm sure she'll think the quad over well. I mean she can always try on the harness and see how close to it she is, and still be safe.

Honestly if there's one wish I have after this is someone please please get her to Orser.

Superb performance from Wakaba. I think hers was my favourite performance of the night (obviously I'm glad Kaetlyn won, but part of me was thinking throughout that she was better at the Olympics, so I didn't enjoy it quite as much).

an Olympic medal who to appreciate the performance of Wakaba
Finally she gets the attention she deserves.

I am reviewing the performances on my TV, the French comments say that it is their favorite and that they had missed them during the Olympics, they also said that she sells her program and that she interprets.

I don't want to start crap in others threads, so I'll just post this in a fan fest.

Re-watching all the programs, I think she should've won the whole thing.

Edit: If anyone cares about the details - I had her beating Osmond in the FS by ~5.5 points, and for me that gap was narrowly large enough for Higuchi to overcome the fall in the short (recalling that Osmond had issues with her lutz and a near fall on her axel).

I finally got home and was able to watch Wakaba's free from Worlds, and.... wow. Her crying made me cry. Such relief, joy, catharsis. She fought like hell for that skate, and it paid off so well... she did beautifully. Such a well deserved medal, such a story of redemption.

OMG Wakaba I love you girl, you killed it :yahoo: How many years did we wait for her to get what she deserves? I'm sorry but I am not only happy for her silver but also for topping Satako :dev3:

She said after she was off the Olympics team that she will make them regret that decision...SHE DID IT!! :yahoo:

I'M SO FRIGGIN HAPPY FOR WAKABABY!!! I've been rooting for her to be on the Olympic podium so I was crushed she didn't make it to the Olympic Team but the skating gods have other plans. :luv17:

Her James Bond program is one of the best this season and I'm glad she took a World's Silver for it! Excuse me while I cry.

WAKABA higuchi: queen of crying, queen of emotions, queen of skating
