Happy about the new hair accessory too! And congrats for winning the competition. I'm sure she'll train hard to polish these programs. I can't wait to see her in her next competition.

Looks like Wakaba has a good long break between competitions after Japan Open? So hopefully her programs will be well-polished by the time of her first senior GP event - Trophee de France in November. I'm going there, really looking forward to it!
The color looks great and it's a gorgeous costume. The style is still the style that makes her appear shorter, but it makes sense that she wants to go with the Scheherazade look.
I just came back from East Japan Sectionals where Wakaba competed. She won of course, but she had a tough time in the SP with a 1Lz and 3Fe2T. Yikes.

The pop on the lutz looked like her blade got caught in a hole or something because a big chunk of ice flew up (I thought her boot had broken) but apparently she pulled a muscle. She looked really good during the warm-up though. Her SP costume looked better live than on video. I don't know if it's because she had the skirt trimmed or videos just don't do her justice.
In the FS, she popped the flip but attached the 3T<2T to the end of 2A.

She looked frustrated because of the flip but she did well considering she didn't even have to compete here. I hope she didn't tire herself out before TdF. The FS must be draining on her, she could hardly walk once she got off the ice.
Also, she has a new FS costume. The design is almost the same except it's red with gold embellishments + colorful glitters with a matching gold + glittery headband. Red suits her much more than pale pink so I'm happy about the change. Good luck to her next week!

Really looking forward to TdF... especially since (if I remember correctly) Wakaba said in a recent interview that one of her goals was to beat Mao... and saying it "out loud" would help motivate her.I really hope she'll slay at TDF. Crossing fingers! Go Wakaba!![]()
It's so strange seeing everyone in the forum complementing Wakaba's artistryAs a junior skater many posters (including myself) commented that her jumps were great, but her artistry needed improvement. I'm so glad that these more mature programs are allowing her to express herself better, and I'm so happy that it's being recognized as well. I can't believe that she would've scored 70+ had she not doubled the flip!
