Wakaba Higuchi | Page 72 | Golden Skate

Wakaba Higuchi

I broke into tears when Wakabond finished her ending pose, and it reminded me of Mao's magical comeback in Sochi :sad21:. So the skating god probably wanted to see who really showed perseverance, heart, resilience and determination. And it was Miss Wakabond :yahoo:.

Who remembers at the beginning of the season when Wakaba said that she wants to touch the public's heart and to project the film on his performance. I believe that she has succeeded her now place at rest and next year.

Yes and in this performance she has fully realized the choreographer’s vision: http://po.st/HTXksm

Just came across this video compilation of Wakaba’s salchows this season (minus the one from Challenge Cup): https://youtu.be/ZqXLrOgSTfU

The one from yesterday was indeed the best. It’s a pity she struggled to make the 3S work in its original spot, which I thought was genius choreography-wise. But this new layout was still effective and the most important thing is she landed a fantastic 3S. It was just such a good jump.

does anyone have a hd upload of wakababy's skate they have all be wiped from yt and i wanted to relive

I’m heartbroken for Zagi but that podium made so happy! Finally Wakababy had her skate, her moment, her victory! I cried with her.
I hope this gives her the confidence she needs for next season and I hope judges will change their mind about Waka, she was underscored so much, so many times during the season, specially in the beginning when she gave her best performances and it wasn’t enough because of the overscoring of some and the underscoring of her performances.
That silver was golden. ❤️ Love Wakababy and wish her all the best in the future!!!

Guys!! I just met Wakaba and Satoko and took a picture with them :) they are lovely and so tiny ahah! Both of them looked cheerful and were cheering the Japanese men on!

You've been lucky in :) they may be small but they are great skaters on and off the ice.

Sooo jealous!!! But also happy for you to see them happy! :yes2::yes2::yes2:

I remember last years worlds when I was at the skaters hotel and poor Wakaba had come back after the free with red-rimmed eyes. I'm glad she turned it around this time and gets to leave with a smile. She's so talented and deserves it.

YAY FOR WAKABA!

I’m so happy to see that Wakaba was credited for her hard work in one of the best ways possible. No longer is she the “disappointment” for Japan - she is one of the shining stars

She said that she wants another unique program, and tried different style of dance, it proves that it advances arthistically it's a good sign, I say it again but it is on the right track, it's good for the sport: )

This is such an evolution from her junior programs where everyone was noting her lack of artistry and her spots for improvement (including myself). I love seeing the artist she's becoming and how she's not afraid to tackle more unique programs!

To think the she used to be noted for her lack of artistry in her junior days (I wans't her fan before), it is indeed amazing how hard she has worked to get to this level: a perfect combination of beauty and power. She deserves the "artist" title.

Oh, and I don't mean to start a war, but it's a pet peeve of me to hear at the end of every competition ends people proclaiming someone as the only mature skater, skating like a woman in every competition. If maturity, old age, wisdom are celebrated, and there shouldn't be any shame about being in the early period of your development: young, fresh vibrant, vigor, full of life etc. For me, the diversity of ages and experiences are what make skating beautiful to watch

Personally I never had a problem with these choreographies we saw that she had talent and charisma, that's what made me interested in her.

Especially towards the end of her choreography of Zorro with the sword you see her fierce side lol and the flamenco part, even in these EX there is always research, but she can be proud of her because today there is has very few skaters who are concerned about choreography or trying different styles.

Someone saw the cute video or Wakaba "dance" with Satoko and Kaethlyn at the small Cérémony medal show .
