Wakaba Higuchi

It was posted yesterday on a Russian forum, I have no idea. There were no clues on exact date it was taken.

unfortunately it is a photo that dates from June 2016 when Wakaba was in summer camp at TCC it was Elizabet Tursynbaeva who posted.
it's been a while since she was not there it seems to me that last year she was in the Michigan canton, it's probably in the Russian forum because Wakaba wears Evgenia's jacket.

The rumor is definitely dead Wakaba stays with his coach.

I don't think it's a shocking statement. It HAS to be her goal to be Japan's Number 1 and to win Worlds. After a silver medal at Worlds, it's the next logical step to aim for the World title. She needs that drive and self-confidence and she knows she can do it.

I will rephrase my sentence because I think I did not choose the right word Choquer seems a little strong.
Because my first goal was not to be mean, on the contrary, her declaration made me happy and I am glad that she regains her confidence after not having done the OG so it was positive, anyway she is currently the woman Japanese n1 thanks to its ranking, it reminds me of my conversation with Li'kitsu

Maybe that's what Max Ambesi wanted to talk about
that she will be at the summer camp, probably to reinforce her endurance for her jumps and 3A as she had done before, in any case it is good news whatever the reason for her visit I hope she takes pleasure, the beginning of the season looks good if she has still SLB as a choreographer.

I saw this a few days ago, and my first thought was classic Wakaba with the ambitious goals! It's been like this since the very beginning, with goals of winning or placing at nationals. I remember her goal sometime around 2015 was to podium at nationals and I thought it was admirable, but unrealistic. Then BAM she got the silver medal. And she got the silver the year after that too! Her goals are always steep but I like how it shows her ambition and her boldness to let everyone know exactly what she's aiming for!

I hope she can accomplish them. It will be difficult but she's a hard worker and a fighter. Now that she has a world silver medal, perhaps the judges will give her more respect as well. I felt last year the judges were harder on her than other skaters, for reasons I can't think of.

From her insta story Wakaba seems to have returned to Japan, I hope we will see her work that she did there like last year.

Now more than wait for the month of July for the announcement of its programs and the award of the Grand Prix it seems so far :(

Edit:

And here is another picture of Wakaba at TCC during his summer camp , I had not seen it before today

Are there still rumors about Wakaba moving to Canada to train? Or was that all just rumors?

Are there still rumors about Wakaba moving to Canada to train? Or was that all just rumors?

From what I understood while discussing here and the conversations on twitter
the rumor had started in 2015 and 2016 during his summer camp, it intensified because of Max Ambesi during his commentary on the Free Program Wakaba, but the Rumors stopped when Evgenia to leave Etéri for train at TCC in June,
But recently we had photos of Wakaba at the TCC probably for his choreography or for the summer camp, so it still made noise on twitter but otherwise there was no officialisation nor denials but at this point it turns out to be completely wrong and she never intended to leave her coach.

Eclair and FigureSkatingMisc explain this better than me.

Wakaba still has 1 year of high school left, so I think it was just the summer camp in TCC, that ignated the rumour. Wakaba's coach has some connection to TCC and that's why she went there in the summer. She is now back in japan again.
Personally, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of Wakaba going to TCC after high school, because she is just the type of skater Brian prefers - Good SS, high, big jumps, good musicality and definetly a lot of potential. But we'll see. She did pretty well under her current coach, too!

Oooh, that would actually be my dream. I think depending on how the season goes this may be *more* or less of a possibility.

Here are some translations of his recent interview.

I must say that I haste to see her work with Yuka Sato, because I do not like the work she did with Haruka Imai and Mai Mihara, but I trust Wakaba after all she beautifully interpret La Callifa and Skyfall.

I think she is old enough to know what she wants and it's great that she skates on what she likes, the performances will only be better.

"in terms of her training at TCC, Wakaba worked on her 3A with Ghislain. she wants to include it in her jump layout in the upcoming season, as well as have more transitions. she also worked on jump timing and consistency. goals: win nats, make it to GPF every year, and 2022 Olys"
