Wenjing Sui & Cong Han

it must be frustrating to feel like you're starting jumps again from scratch over and over, but I have no doubt all jumps will be back just like they were after surgery two seasons ago :)

Man, I didn't want to keep going on a tangent in the other threads, but- I really miss S/H in pairs. Obviously glad they've been careful and withdrew from the GPs though, don't want to agitate the injury. Can't wait for 4cc.

I miss Sui/Han a lot too. They're my favorite pairs and probably my favorite between all disciplines. I hope Sui is recovering well, though I haven't seen any news from them recently.

I was hoping they'd do a challenger to warm up, but didn't see them on Golden Spin's entry list.

I miss them as hell too. But the health is more important, I just hope they will kick asses when they come back!

Without them and the Germans, the pair field feels very barren, not in terms of competition but the quality of skating and the aesthetics of performance. Only James/Cipres are holding some interest for now.

Yeah, at least the new seniors, they're young, so I understand if their skating still lacks quality. But most of the experienced seniors...disappointing.

Sui/Han performed Turandot in a show in Shanghai this week.

Seriously, I'd be happy and content just watching them do crossovers or something. They're so charismatic. I'm so, so, so glad that Wenjing seems to have recovered from injury and that they're doing well! I miss them so much (wipes tears). Thanks for the update, fivetimescat!

Also, the production in that Shanghai ice show seems really sophisticated. Visual effects were on point.

Seems like Sui/Han are coming back for Chinese Nationals later this month. How exciting, I've missed them so much.

Very curious what their programs are going to be like with Chinese-style choreography and greater emphasis on dance. Pretty sure Lori Nichol is still their choreographer, but she's always done decent to great programs for them.

Thanks for the updates! I'm glad they're getting their competition season underway; makes me confident that they'll be prepped in time for 4CC and Worlds!

Yay, they're coming back! I honestly thought their soonest possible competition was 4CC, but what a treat to see two new programs from them by the end of this year. :yahoo: I love it when skaters showcase their culture in their music and/or choreography. Based on all the preparation they've done, it sounds very intricate too! All the best to S/H!

Great news! :hap57: And is it just me, or Cong is looking even better than before? :luv17:

So pleased to hear they're ready to compete this month; thought we wouldn't see them until 4CC. I still love many pairs but there's been a hole in the discipline without them this season.

Ok I saw the video and I think Sui was saying that the Chinese-style choreo would be for their new exhibition program. They didn't say anything about their two competitive programs.

Ooh, thank you for the clarification! And here I was, with the secret hope that one day they'll do a competitive program to the theme from "In the Mood for Love". Someone did post a clip of their SP earlier in the thread, but sound was muted. I hope they went for something more contemporary for their competitive programs then - Hallelujah and Turandot were relatively classic choices last year, as lovely as their SP was.
