Wenjing Sui & Cong Han

Han Cong is more powerful than most male pairs.

hi:), I fully agree, he's one of the best male pairs partners in the World right now, and the similarity in height between him and Wenjing should not deceive anyone nor making him weaker comparing to higher male partners/pairs with more prominent height difference.

What makes him one of the best (if not the best even) is his confidence, power and sureness with which he's partnering, not losing his personality and character to Wenjing in process. They are for me equally striking in presentation/expression and his assistance, caring approach, the way he presents her, interpreting music, adding that personal touch to the program at the same time is really impeccable are rare to see.

For me, they are perfectly matched: by height, personality, character, skill and power. Both very confident, talented in so many dimensions skaters, so much to celebrate about them!!!

So...Wenjing shared this little video clip on her social media with the following words:

"After watching the video, this came into my mind: when we went training abroad, I often saw ladies and men like this. They were almost the age of my grandparents, but everyday before their skate, they wore the most beautiful costumes and did the most careful preparation, just like what every professional athlete and artist would do. Some even had their very own partners and programs. They took turns with little skaters training on ice for the music. And after the program, they were always those who received the warmest applause. The happiness and joy were real for them. I felt that my life was being brightened every time when I saw them." :luv17:

I feel that it's exactly what she said-for her, the choice of being a figure skating athlete arose solely from her heart. You can see her passion and love from her eyes, her movements, and her engagement with the music, the audience, and Cong every time she skates.:agree:

You can tell Wenjing love skating so much and I love it :luv17: Her love and dedication for the sport has always been evident to me!

yes, the love for the skating itself is very visible in Wenjing's attitude/approach, aside even of being so competitive, poised and determined. When I watch her, her skating with Han, there is that feeling of them belonging to the ice, that they are in the right place doing the right thing, it's just so natural to see. From my personal perspective, there is an immediate difference between pair like Wenjing and Han and pair just skating, going through elements, or a pair just executing program - it takes a lot of personal input, emotion towards discipline in general to colour skating, performance and program in a way Wenjing and Han do, adding this unique personality, identity so easy to see every time they are on ice.

And seeing them again after this break brings me that enjoyment even more, as I see how much Wenjing missed skating, missed the connection with Han, audience, music...Same goes to Alexa and Chris - there is definitely stronger 'bond' between them and their skating which I like very much

Interviewer asks if while Wenjing was recovering, Han Cong felt very anxious and supportive of his partner.
Wenjing: “He said I got fat (laughs).”
Cong: Wished that Wenjing would be able to return quickly. After their 4CC performance he hugged her fat self. (Wenjing laughs)

Haha this part is a gem.

Their dedication and strength never cease to amaze me!

Their positions during interviews are interesting. Tessa and Scott are always next to each other with Scott looking intensely at Tessa when she talks. Cong, he stands behind Wenjing like he is there as a support and to back her up. Mostly he lets her talk. When she was a little choked up about the touching supportive words of a fan she's close to, he stepped forward and turned back his head to look at her. :) Sweet.
