Wenjing Sui & Cong Han

I watched the CBC commentary, very disappointing!! As usual, whenever there is a top team that can be a threat to their Canadian favorite, they have nothing expletive to say, very poor sportsmanship. They even have the nerve to say that Sui/Han are the only threat to D/R, dream on, there is the Russians, Germans and the 2nd Chinese pair of Yu/Zhang! All they could think about is D/R's position. There is a Canadian lady commentator, I absolutely can't stand her, she has nothing good to say to the 'direct' competitor of a Canadian favorite.

I keep rewatching Sui/Han's SP & LP from the BESP guys - the way they describe Sui/Han's SP to Blues to Klook - Intoxicating!! I couldn't agree more, and what a perfect 'word' for it!!

The whole performance on CBC was filled with the highest compliments to Sui/Han, for every element and their connection as well as the program. I also appreciate that the details and nuances about their excellence are pointed out. The broadcast was meant for the Canadian audience so there are comments relative to D/R. Great Britain has no Pairs contenders for their commentators to compare S/H to.

Their programs are both winners. I would really hope they would keep them. They've gotten very little mileage out of them at this point.

hi Arriba:ghug:, hope You are good after crazy week!

the SP is definitely a keeper for many reasons - little mileage, fresh factor, insane choreo/musicality, effect on audience (judges too it seems:laugh:), sophistication value, entertaining value and all that mixed leading to impact made by this program, setting them nicely for FS, no doubt. As for FS, I think that it could be a keeper too, I'm less 'fond' of it for now, but no point of denying its emotional pull and impact, and they sure can re-work it in bits/add some difficulty et all

so, so glad they are finally crowned after rocky season and two silvers at previous Worlds! They sure made a big impact on audience, I was impressed especially by flowy, exquisite quality of SP and emotional package of FS, and let's talk about those throws, boy - Han throws Wenjing, she's like hang in the air, did rotations like ordinary people walking AND still has time to do a side-eye to judges like 'hey, I'm doing a throw, look at me!', it's just beyond spectacular! Also, again about this pristine technique on twist - Han could be not the tallest Pairs man, but sure he's the one having one of best technique, if not the best, there is a clear and clean catch of Wenjing in the air, not like a potato sack falling on your arm (like in many Pairs...). Speaking of Han, I can also go for days about his strength in lifts, powerful presentation, superb edge work on steps, great expression...

The Boss Pair, I'd say. I already re-watched SP like 10 times and still got no near being bored!

What a week! I'm exhausted but so happy. Actually I'm in London waiting for my next flight. :otopic:

About those throws -- :jaw: He and Zhang ought to give a clinic on how to do it!. With Han, his timing just seems so impeccable. I can still see (in my mind) that photo of Sui in the hospital after her surgery. I remember wondering if she would ever skate again. What an amazing comeback. They are such deserving champions. So happy for them.

:ghug:! Great to hear You are safe and sound, full of great and memorable experiences:)

those Chinese throws, always a solid rock elements for them, they all sure can do them in a crisp way even in sleep , and yass about this comeback as a World Champions - Wenjing is a heroine, along with Alexa Scimeca-Knierim, Evgenia Tarasova and Eric Radford  - to go out and produce a fight and still quality performances despite being in pain or being back after whole season sit out is just beyond remarkable, especially in so technically-absorbing discipline, requiring not only a great condition of one skater, but making it DOUBLE...

Pairs whole competition was probably the best, Men's was close :)

I like the SP more than the FS, but if they choose to keep either one it's fine, they are both gorgeous. I only hope they will change at least one of them.

Also perhaps Wenjing should change her FS dress into something more soft and lighter to match the music.
I thought it was awful watching 4CC but in real life it doesn't look THAT bright, it is more vivid orange, rather than a coral highlighter shade.

I also hope they change one of the programs! Both are amazing, but it would be nice to bring something new and fresh to the Olympics. I'm sure Lori can come up with something fabulous again :agree:

if it will be the case, I hope they'll keep SP, my personal wish and a dream for them is to do FS to Borodin's 'Poltovsian dances', this is such powerful yet sensual music, and I already pictured Han in Nathan Chen-style red/gold embroidered jacket:love:

They deserved this gold medal sooo much! :clapper: :cheer: What an incredible achievement after Wenjing's injury! :jaw:
Their SPs is just incredibly cool and fun, while their FS is beautifully emotional. I am not fan of cover songs usually and I love the original Bridge Over Troubled Water, but boy this works so well for them. It'd be awesome if they kept one of the programs for the next season too.

Now I'm envisioning a James Bond program for them

Actually its kind of the theme for their EX this season(the men from U.N.C.L.E), but you know they didn't really have the extra time to practice.. So champane was kept;)

I had no idea they were using man from Uncle as the new exhibition! I just assumed they used Champagne again because of their late start to the season. Are there any vids of it?
