Wenjing Sui & Cong Han

To me, I enjoyed their COC performance a tad better (no wobble on the StSq!) but I'm happy to see them get higher PCS at NHK despite a small mistake and a low spin level. glad to see the home crowd cheer for them :) Here's to a great FS!

Yeah, CoC might've been better, but stil, they're consistent, so I'm happy. No heart attacks for me so far!

I feel that this NHK outing maybe was more about to confirm the path they're going with, to keep on great work, after CoC dazzling debut, that they wanted to achieve the consistency on integrated, complex performance, to build up a great momentum.

I really feel some new, mature dimension this season watching their skating: movement, transitioning is much more refined and 'thoughtful' and there's more 'depth' in connection between them and between the program, performance and the music. It's fantastic to see that kind of approach from them: to balance out technical exquisiteness with emotion/expression, to make the smallest, most sublime things pop out as a big event:)

Could someone describe to me please what exectly they did wrong in the spin level for getting only level 2.

Sigh...I'm guessing It's probably their same old issue...from what I noticed in the second part of the spin they didn't hold the sit position for at least two revs, which cost them one change of basic position and one difficult variation by both partners. So now they only have change of direction and three difficult variations to count for two features. Twice changing in basic positions won't count as a feature because you need three (sit-camel-upright but should've been sit-camel-sit-upright. the second sit is invalidated due to lack of rotations) and usually results in being marked V. Sometimes their first sit (the one with Sui parallel to the ice) also caused them a bit problem for not holding 3 revs before change of foot. It's a shame because I love their pair spin. I'm sure it's not a matter of their ability, but more a matter of catching up with the music. Their commitment to the music is just... Anyway hope they can fix the spin in the free skate

That was amazing.

I think one possible room for improvement is the last minute of the program. Feels like it fizzled out just a tiny bit (though I'm kind of nitpicking here).

I like Turandot very much by SH。It's getting more and more touching. I know their coach had the classical version and maybe the peak of program. But now, they use it as a step to their own peak and I believe SH will have more great work in the future.

For me, this result did not come as a surprise. They skate well, and they should have done it long ago. I think it’s unlikely that other pairs will reach our record (in the free program), not to mention the result of the Chinese. I always said that they are the main contenders for Olympic gold. They are the current World Champions. This pair has consistent skating and they are the only pair in the world who is in harmony with choreography and technique.

Maxim was always full of himself:laugh: OUR record
MAx I love you but please ,your program wast worth 140 at max then :p
He really thinks that no team could be able to break 154 /what they got in Russia, their own country / for last four years because their program and they were exceptonal? He think that they got score ike that because they were SUCH good? No way..An he is sure that no team will get the same score soon. Thats not nice ,Max.MAybe someone would remind him that the event took place in Sochi
Their waltz was fantastic, but not FP

I'm deviating from the thread but I agree... V/T's skating was quality but their choreography(sometimes lack thereof) was so not.

No program deserved such score in 2014. Any of them. And saying that only chinese deserve beat their"so well deserved "score now and no one else before throu 4 years and still no team is able now is pathetic. He should be ashamed.

I love that he's such a fan  He commentated for the NHK Pairs event.

To no one's surprise, really, Sui/Han confirmed at NHK that they plan to continue skating for the Beijing 2022 Olympics

Will you participate in the Beijing Olympic Games?

Han:
Definitely. In the beginning, we had a 4-year plan; after Beijing succeeded in the Olympic bid we had a longer-term plan. As long as our bodies will allow, under energizing conditions, we hope to have a good competition at home.

Also this fun soundbite is worth mentioning:

What is the relationship between you two? As pair skaters, how do you promote your relationship?

Han:
We’re friends.

Sui: We don’t promote our relationship (laughs).

Love they'll stay at least till Beijing! :hap10:

Oh, Empress, always in denial :drama:

, good thing is that people around know better, let her dazzle us by attitude and skills, I think that the chemistry between then (meaning more or less off-ice) only enhances their impact of performances created, you clearly can not only see, but FEEL that they are both into music and the moment on ice while performing: eye contact, assurance in every gesture leading/following command in their confident carriage.
