Erm, you do know that the village that Janet is from is just 20 miles west of where I live... :p

And then I find that, years after I last heard anything about her, somebody in America is listening to her. Talk about a small world!

I should add, even though Janet is local, she isn't really my taste. The year she was on the X Factor, I was actually supporting her fellow "Girls" category singer Amelia Lily.

I was raging when the mentor for the Girls category, Kelly Rowland, put Amelia Lily out at the start of the Live Shows. But, thankfully, another contestant misbehaving meant she was brought back a few weeks later, and eventually finished 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] in the series.

Much as I love Destiny's Child, Kelly Rowland was the worst judge and mentor they have ever had on the programme. She made so many bad decisions, especially when it came to choosing songs for her contestants. And not just Amelia Lily; Janet also had her fair share of unsuitable songs foisted on her. Hence why she was put out 2 weeks before the Final, when she had been expected to win it earlier in the series. I am so glad Kelly only lasted one series.

Anyway, even though I wasn't actively supporting Janet, I was still very proud to see somebody from Tyrone doing so well.

I actually know nothing about Janet (except she has my sister's name!).. so thank you for filling me in. Glad to know she is your "neighbor"!!! How wonderful!! :clap: I was searching on YouTube for the very haunting FD music the Spanish junior ice dance team used yesterday called "Something Found" but came up blank except for Janet Devlin's song.... Lovely but kind of sad. She has a sweet voice and soulful eyes and her accent resonated with me as familiar. I share favorite music/songs here from my own past and taste, pieces that friends and family have shared with me currently and over the years and I like to search out new material on this thread especially, on YouTube and on the web when I have time. You do such great work on GS CarolLiza_fan!! :peace: I look forward to your posts and posts from other GS regulars.... Have learned a lot about skating but also about international views, tastes.... We in America at times feel a disconnect from the rest of the world sitting here in our large continent between two vast oceans. :).

I've been listening to "Knock Knock" by Mac Miller. I swear it would great for a SP. Yes I know there's quite a bit of swearing, but still it would work great for a spunky SP.

Also, I've been hearing bits and pieces of "This is Me" by Keela Settle on YouTube. It's the main song for the trailer of "The Greatest Showman" that's coming out in December. I swear it should have come out last season because I strongly believe Ashley Wagner could pull off a legendary FP to it. Maybe not as legendary as her FP from 2015 Nationals and 2016 Worlds, but still, if any ladies skater can pull it off, it would be her.

One of the skaters I have adopted is using a medley of pieces with these names as her FS this season. I can only find one piece called "If Elephants Could Fly", so I am guessing that "Africa" is this piece by the same artist, rather than it's more famous namesake by Toto.

If I am right, it is bound to be an epic programme. Because these pieces are epic!
