For me...

God willing, a healthy Brian Joubert. I don't like what I've been hearing about how he looks healthwise since his battle w/that bug that nailed him at Skate Canada. I want that pink cheeked happy sparkle in his eyes hungry for the fight Brian in Sweden.

The Del/Schoes FD to Children of A Lesser God. Even w/the YouTube vid from Euros, on my connection it was really grainy and any team that can manage to put in Sign Language into their program...Well, w/a deaf cousin and me knowing a bit of Sign and fluent in Finger Spelling, I can not wait to see this thing next week!!

How Patrick Chan does at his first Worlds. Nothing to lose and everything to gain. It's going to be fun to watch. (I hope!!fingerscrossedmighthavetobuychocolateEasterbunnyforsacrifice) ;)

How the entire Cdn team does. See above for Patrick Chan for what I'm really feeling about that. LOL!!

Okay...Who's next?

children of a lesser god? Are you sure you got the right movie here????

Cute..

Morozov bending his head almost horizontal at the rinkside, and his blushing when seeing himself do so on the giant screen.

Arguably the best Men's Division ever! Also all the 10 great skaters to watch and enjoy. It was almost like that last year in Tokyo.

The battle of Mao Asada and YuNa Kim, and will the US get 3 posts for next season?

That Carron and Jost will be taken more seriously.

May the best Pairs team win with two deserving others on the podium.

Joe

ITA about the Men. So much talent, it makes my head spin thinking about it. I hope the guys all skate lights-out and really live up to their headliner status. If they do that, we are in for a treat!

Ladies will be exciting, as well. I hope Kimmie has a strong showing. I think two clean programs will do wonders for her confidence, whether she makes the podium or not.

Pairs: the pair that skate the best win!!!

Ladies: Yu-Na and Mao, skate 4 clean programs, and get a tie:)
Kimmie has a coming back, just to boost her self-confidence. She seems a nice and hard-working girl. Poor thing. She might be remembered as the one that earned the 09 World spots for the U.S. but never got the chance to go.
Joannie Rochette skates two clean programs with the 3/3s. Would be nice to have 3 spots for 09 but it's not very important. Canada does not have that many good female skaters anyway, at least not yet.

Men's: Let's start the fight! It's so exciting to see such a deep field. I'd like to see Chan has two clean programs and sneak in top 6.

Dance: V/M on the podium and maybe on the very top. or D/S.

Dance - I want B/A to win their first world title. It will be a long time coming. I will be so happy for them.

Ladies - Kimmie skating like her old self. Medal or no medal I just want to see her confident again. I hope Wagner makes a name for herself, by skating like she has all season. For Bebe to surprise us with a great sp.

Men - I would love it if Johnny wins a world title or at least medals. I hope the other guys skate well enough to retain 3 pots.

Can't wait for the ice dance -- and it used to be my least-preferred discipline! So many great teams.

I do have a soft spot for B/A, as people and as skaters. I would love to see them get gold. They've worked hard and helped pull US Ice Dance into new heights. Also love D/S, V/M, D/W -- will look forward to every minute of dance shown on US TV, and then will be bugging folks who have access to better coverage to sell me a set of tapes!

Can't wait for the ladies -- hope so much for Kimmie to do well. It would be amazing for her to get a medal, but I'll be happy for a couple of clean skates. I hope she stays with competition even with still more young guns entering senior comp next year. Crossing my fingers for Rochette to skate well and get the marks she deserves. Always love Yu-Na Kim, and look forward to seeing Asada on something larger than a YouTube screen.

Can't wait for the men -- I hope Johnny delivers 2 more solid performances out of a solid season AND gets rewarded accordingly. Hope Joubert is feeling better -- haven't heard anything about how he's doing. Won't be the same comp w/o Evan, though. I know the US will miss their national champ. But I hope Abbott does well and goes home with an unforgettable experience.

Nice thread.

I am excited about all of the disciplines this year. There is so much talent and drama - will Kimmie do well, will Bebe come through, will Johnny medal for the first time at Worlds, will B/A become the first US team to win gold in ice dance, etc. and that is just the US skaters. So much talent, it is hard for me to predict the winners but I feel that "nerves" not talent may play a factor on who finishes on the podium, especially in the men's and ladies competition.

This is going to be some competition and I can't wait!!!!

Wch are so exciting this year; for the most part I think the fields are quite deep.

Dance-I've never been their biggest fan, but I want B/A to win a World Title. They've made so much progress this year and if it doesn't happen this season, they'll never get it IMO. (Although I'd like to see some better expression from them!) I want to see fair juding in this field so no one can cry conspiracy or wuzrobbed. And I'd love to see this for the top 5, in no particular order: B/A, D/S, K/N, D/W, V/M.

Ladies: I really hope Yu-Na is healthy and ready to go! She's such a great skater and had a wonderful season, I'd hate to see it end on a not so very high note. I hope Mao can deliver two clean programs; that goes for Rochette, Meissner and Wagner as well. I would say Liang but...I've given up hope, I hate to say.

Men: Johnny Weir on the podium! I don't care what spot he gets, I want him to deliver two spectacular programs and be rewarded for it with a spot on the podium. Although...I'd love for Takahashi to win; he's amazing. I also hope that Brian Joubert's health doesn't hold him back, and that he does well. And I'd like to see either Carriere or Abbott in the top 10, my personal taste being Abbot but I know that might be a stretch.

Pairs: Either S/S or P/T for the win. I think both would really deserve it if they skated well, but that would be one I couldn't judge. I think Z/Z need to work on their presentation before they gain the world title. I'd also love to see C/O in the top 8.

Pairs - I wanna see Brooke and Ben kick serious booty. They may not be the reigning US champs this time around but they can still show the World that their win wasn't a fluke last year!

Dance - Tanith and Ben, 'nuff said

Men - Patrick Chan... I'd love to see him end his season on a very high note... I'd also like to see Johnny have two great skates like at Nationals

Ladies - I want Kimmie to come out and be the skater she is known to be....

I'm having a hard time getting excited about worlds this year. The only US dance team that I really like isn't even there this year (Hurry back, Melissa and Denis, I miss you!), and the other dance teams that I like will probably get screwed over by the judges (the french teams, D&S and P&B). No Denkova & Staviski, another bummer. And the hype around V&M is enough to keep me from even wanting to watch dance at all. They are so boring, and their programs always seem so empty, I don't get why they are ranked so high. But anyway, thats my rant about dance, which usually is an event that I like.

Pairs, I don't know all of the pairs in the event but I probably am looking foward to Aliona and Robin the most. They are so lovely.

I don't know if I will watch the mens event at all. Evan withdrawing is such a bummer, and Johnny is a gorgeous skater but I get SO NERVOUS when he is on the ice! Daisuke Takahashi is awesome and I would like to see him take the title. I guess I am kind of interested to see Patrick Chan compete, since I've never watched him before.

Ladies... To be honest, after all the talk that only Mao and Yu Na can take the title, I would LOVE to see anyone but them take it. Not that I dislike either girl, but I tend to root for the underdogs, and it would seem that anyone but those two is an underdog this year! I'm really looking foward to Carolina Kostner, she has great programs this year and she could definitely take the title IF she could skate clean. Big if, I know, but I think she has it in her. I'd be deleriously happy if Kimmie won, or even medals here. I love love love that girl and I hope she's gotten all of her issues worked out and can enjoy the competition. I'm happy that Bebe finally gets her trip to worlds, and I hope she skates her best and really has fun since after this year, the competition to even make the world team is going to be so tough. As for Ashley, I hope this is just the start of a wonderful career. Other ladies that I'm looking foward to are Yukari Nakano, Miki Ando, and Sarah Meier.

First of all I'm looking foward to a lot of clean and well-interpreted programs!

I want to see fair judging.

Even if it's not very likely, I want a healthy, confident and smiling Brian Joubert. I hope Jeff Buttle will skate to clean programs and finish in the top 5. I hope Stephane Lambiel will skate his wonderful programs in such a breathtaking manner that he really earns the gold medal.

I hope Aljona & Robin will skate the lights out and celebrate a highly deserved victory.

I hope Kimmie will deliver two clean progams to feel more confident for the next season and show everyone that she still can make it. I hope Carolina Kostner will control her nerves and finish on the podium, maybe even at the top.

Belbin & Agosto will finally win their first gold medal, after winning two times silver and bronze at wolds and olympics! (I'm pretty sure they will) Delobel & Schoenfelder will finally be on the podium at worlds, after so many disappointing 4th places! (Again I'm pretty sure they will)

I'm especially looking forward to the men's and dance event, because in men's the field is so deep that it will be very exciting, and because in dance we'll see so many great programs, both in the OD and FD.

It might be easier to list what I dont want to see rather than what I want to see:laugh: especially since I love each division and sooo many skaters from each. Although the one thing I wanted most of all I wont be seeing, which is all of the top skaters there, happy and in good health. Maybe next year.

For the ladies I cant wait to see the battle between Mao, Yu-na & Miki for the podium it, should be exciting. I am also hoping for clean programs from Joannie, Yukari, Sarah & Ashley. I am not a fan of Kimmie but I am hoping she pulls it out to have 2 clean programs and regains the confidence she used to have, its been heartbreaking watching her fall apart this year. I am hoping above hope that Bebe:love: has a spectacular showing at Worlds and has a great time while she's there. I also hope Kiira & Laura do well at Worlds this year. Last but not least Im hoping that somehow the US will be able to retain 3 spots for the Ladies, with sooo much talent in the wings it would be a shame not to have them there next year in the mix.

For the men, most of all I want Brain Joubert to be his normal, healthy, sexy self. He's looked soo sick all year, its really worried me. I want to see a battle royale between Brian, Takahashi, Lambiel, Weir & Chan for the podium. I am also hoping that Kevin VDP, Stephen Carriere, Jeffrey Buttle & Jeremy Abbott all have clean amazing programs. I am really hoping that the US can keep 3 spots for Worlds & Canada can bring back 3 spots for Worlds next year( I am sooooo sooooo sad Shawn couldnt go this year:frown: ), I hope Russia can also gain a few more spots for Worlds. I am also hoping Nobunari will be watching and getting inspired to come back next year to compete:agree:

For Pairs, I cant wait to see Robin & Aliona do thier program:love: I love watching them skate. I also am hoping for amazing programs from Pang & Tong and Zhang & Zhang. I am also hoping for powerhouse showings from Dube & Davidson, Castile & Okolski and Kawaguchi & Smirnov with all 6 teams finishing in the top 6:clap: I also hope the US can pull 3 spots for next year.

For Ice Dance, Im just ridiculous since I love 9 teams here. LOL Im dying to see the battle between Delobel & Scheonfelder and Tanith & Ben for the top spot. Since both teams are my favorite I'll be happy with either team being on top. Im sad that Domnina & Shabalin arent there but he needs to rest and heal for a great season next year. I am also hoping for a battle between K&N, D&W & V&M for that 3rd place spot. I hope the Kerrs do 3 clean programs without any odd/random mistakes and P&B, F&S and C&L all skate wonderfully.

LOL!!

I am really hoping that the US can keep 3 spots for Worlds & Canada can bring back 3 spots for Worlds next year( I am sooooo sooooo sad Shawn couldnt go this year:frown: ).

ITA with all of the above and I'd also like to add...

Seeing Dubé and Davison compete injury-free for the first time at Worlds and seeing the other two Canadian teams make their Worlds debut.

Seeing the ice dance event because this is the first season in a long time where I really like most of the top teams' FDs and the first season in probably ever where I can't automatically predict who'll place where before the competition begins. Now that's a refreshing thing in ice dance!

That Carron and Jost will be taken more seriously.

Joe

That reminds me, I got really angry when this one poster a long time ago wrote that Delobel and Schoenfelder does not deserve their top billing in France because the other teams are much better and there' overlooked in favor of the older team. First of all, I would just like to say that that's totally wrong. I love carron and Jost too, they've got great style and charm, but their skating is so sloppy and they make a lot of mistakes in theri performances, I honestly think they have a long way to go before they are taken more seriously. Also, I don't know much about Pechelat and her partner, but I have to say I loved their flamengo OD it reminded me much of Pezerat and anissina, but I still think they're not as smooth as Olivier and Isabel...

1. Seeing another round of folk dance OD's, and even more so if I can get copies of the British Eurosport coverage. Particularly I want to see Lucie MYSLIVECKOVA / Matej NOVAK :clap: -skate their Finnish dance/Leva's Polka OD again, and skated perfectly. They were one of my top hilights from jr. Worlds. This of course requires Hajkova & Vincour to hage to withdraw, but :slinkaway: And I want to see the Kerrs' wonderful Scots OD, including John in his kilt. I want to see Hann McCurdy /Coreno's great Canadian OD, and I want them to finish ahead of W&P with it again.
2. Seeing either DelSchoes or Belbin & Agosto win their first Worlds!!!! I'd love either outcome.
3. Seeing either K&N, D&W or V&M get their first world medal!!! I'm pulling for D&W, but absolutely not expecting it.
4. Seeing the Kerr's finish 6th, so that they are seeded next year.
5. Seeing all teams mentioned above skate perfectly.
6. Seeing Johnny Weir win his first Worlds medal :bow: while skating perfectly and landing his quad triple combination
7. Seeing Kimmie comeback and finish top 6.
8. Seeing Bebe skate her programs perfectly
9. Here we're in the realm of utter fantasy-seeing I&B take the bronze and retire. C&O skate well enough to secure 3 spots for next year for the US.

Except for number 9, all of the others are possible.
