What to do with skating DVD collection?

OK, this is nuts. I was looking for my copy of the famous movie "Gettysburg" as Ken Burns has a bit part in it, and I found my skating DVD collection. I have dozens over the decades which I made. For instance, I have the ladies free from 2020 NHK trophy. I edited it down to 45 minutes, cutting out the commercials. Leaving Johnny and Tara and the skaters. This one is great quality but some from the past are not so good as this.
This one starts with Young You doing Lord of the Rings and a 3A. I had no idea I even had this. Its epic.
I am a 77 year old man who rides 140 mph motorcycles. How long can I last? How do I hand out these DVDs to anyone who wants them here? I should make a list, but I am motorcycle touring, camping, going to fly-ins, trying to save my house from burning down, etc right now. I actually have some friends here I should ask if they want them.

UmeYoSake, I think your Japanese DVD format is different, No?
US and Japanese standard DVDs are incompatible because they use different region codes and video encoding standards. The US uses Region 1, while Japan uses Region 2. Additionally, both countries use the NTSC video format (instead of PAL), meaning video signals will match, but the geographic region-locking will block playback on standard players

May you last as long as possible, Chris! for you to be as healthy as possible for many more years!
I keep fooling the grim reaper! Passed my Perineum Biopsy...next up, calcium build up scan in heart area...
You are of course on the list of nice people I have met here along the years....And some of the DVDs are proffesional. And I have met so many nice people here from around the world who have helped me watch skating in Japan and Korea as well. Best to get rid of many of the DVDs now before something unpleasant happens. In fact, this forum has introduced me to so many great people and information in my retirement.

The world is full of nice people...you just have to look for them....

(I forgot...Best wishes to MK, who just had hip surgery at 46. All those jumps.....)
Also, stay away from the grumpy old men on this forum...

OK, I at least counted the DVDs I made 38. Most are post 2009

A big thanks to PaulE for turning me on to the Magnavox 9th generation DVR, DVD player/recorder, equiped with a digital Tuner so you can record Johnny and Tara for posterity. Off of rabbit ears. So I recorded an event, then went in and edited out all the Smuckers commercials, etc, and drivel...so I could see say a ladies free with 7 skaters featured, in 49 minutes. I bought 2 and they both still work. Knock on wood. These DVRs are still available used on ebay...but you will pay up to $1000 for them, depending on generation.

I hope you find someone who will love them - are you planning to rip them as well? (I have all my DVDs, those I kept and those I have culled, ripped to a hard drive).
Hummmmm....an interesting Idea...I was almost brought to tears watching Rino Matsuike skate to "Perhaps Love" and watch all the rest of the Japanese skaters and Young You last night.

I have ripped CDs before to my HD on my desk top...

I have never ripped a DVD. If I can learn how to do that, it would be wise to do so.
I dont know if there is a way I can email folks the ripped file but I think alot of people would enjoy these old skates.

Hummmmm...if I learn to rip DVDs, I will have something to watch in the nursing home besides "I Love Lucy" reruns?
YES!

I bet it isnt so tough.
