1. Sakhanovich SP and FS. The fact that she delivered two clean programs (if we don’t count that one singled axel) and is obviously on her way up.
2. Tarusina - after her bus accident last season, it took a lot of determination to get back to her full skills.
3. Sotskova- I hate both her dresses, and I dislike the new hair colour, but she is more consistent than she has ever been.
4. Sinitsina/Katsalapov- it is the first time I actually liked their skating the FS. It sucks that they couldn’t finish it.
5. All those junior pairs. It will be exciting to watch who will survive the next few years and transitions successfully into seniors, but the level or Russian juniors is much higher than it has been in the last 10 years. It seems to me that there is slowly a floodgate of junior pairs building up, and when it bursts to seniors, it may replicate the situation we can see in ladies.
In no particular order:
1. Stolbova/Klimov SP and gala
2. Bobrova/Soloviev FD & Zhulin crying
3. Popova/Mozgov gala
4. Masha Sotskova SP & FS
5. Sergei Voronov not giving up
