Skating with Celebrities

American/Canadian Idol

Dancing with the Stars

State your reasons

Certainly NOT Dancing with the Stars, which I enjoy quite a bit.

I'd have to go with American Idol. I watched the first season, then was kind of shocked when they turned around and did another season. I though it was supposed to be a one-time thing. Now, you couldn't pay me to watch it.

Skating with Celebrities is an okay diversion. I was expecting more, though.

American Idol. I've only watched it a couple times, but at least the 'celebrities' on SwC recognize they're not going to be challenging at worlds any time soon. DwtS is actually pretty darn good. But AI...oy. It's painful to watch some of these people, it really is. I feel sorry for them, and yet I scorn them because so many are obviously delusional about their own abilities, and even being told, flat out, "You suck. Don't quit your day job. Ever." on national TV doesn't get it through their heads that they're wasting their time.

Ironically, it's the one I watch (tho not this year because I made a New Years Resolution to give up reality TV) -- American Idol.

The other two, I can merely cringe in emberassment (over either the fact that I'm actually watching it, or over the skills, or lack thereof, of some of the contestants), but I can handle clumsy dancing and skating more than I can handle PEOPLE WHO CANNOT SING COMPLETELY TRASHING A SONG THAT I REALLY LIKE, OR ONE I HATE TO BEGIN WITH (and I'm not sure which is worse.) And it seems every season they have to have at least 2 in the final 12 finalists who should have been tossed LONG before they got to that stage, and at least one of them has to stay in for WEEKS AND WEEKS AND WEEKS before the audience is finally put out of their misery.
