It is Elena. I recently transferred the 98 Olympics Pairs SP to DVD and the fluff piece on Elena had those pictures in it.

It IS Elena. These pictures are from the fluff CBS did on her during the 1998 Olympics.

I particularly like the skating picture. She looks so happy and pretty even at that young age.

And, she doesn't look a lot different in person. I was at the SOI reception in Nashville, and was surprised to not feel freakishly large around the skaters... most seemed more substantial in person than on TV, with the exception of Elena (and Kyoko). She is the tiniest bird of a woman that I have ever seen. She seemed not to be any bigger than any 10 year old child in the room.
