Well, it isn't luggage or a backpack and is like a normal sized ladies handbag so it should be fine, no?
Not sure if it's helpful. But there's Package Express storage area in South Station (Not North Station).

As of July 2015, they charge $10 per item, and they're open from 7am - 8pm on weekdays and 8am - 5pm on weekends.

1.) Yes, you can enter anytime you'd like with a valid, unused ticket. It's common for many people to arrive just for the biggest events and/or final groups.
2.) No, outside food is not allowed inside TD Garden. You could try smuggling something in, but I wouldn't be surprised if most bags are searched during entry.

@shyne: thanks, but if they close at 8 pm and the event ends at 11 pm, I won't be able to pick up my bag afterward. I will either ship my luggage or stow it in my friend's car at the subway station she parks at.
I guess security is just tight these days. I was able to wear my black backpack everywhere at the US Open some years ago.

I'm sure there will be plenty of overpriced concession stands. Here's a list of vendors inside TD Garden from their website (though I'm not certain if all these will be open during Worlds):

If it is like 2014 Nationals, many food stands were not open early in the week. However, there are a number of pubs/Subway's/etc. near the rink.

That's right. Food is not a problem. There is even food in the T station......and the Qdoba acoss the street will sustain life....

If this event were before Paris, I would say that like most skating events they allow a bag, like a grocery shopping bag, to carry all the junk we skating fans "need" , no matter what the arena policy normally is....we never know how much of that policy will be enforced anyway. But in the Post Paris world, I expect security to be on the tight side and be ready for it.

Sorry, I didn't have time to read through all pages, but do you guys plan to party somehow there? I don't have any friends who love to watch figure skating competitions, and I'd be so excited to have some live conversations about it! I am going to come for Ladies free.

Anyway, I'm always up for night caps post the evening sessions either near the arena or Back Bay (near all the competition hotels). I'd be glad to organize some sort of brunch before the first sessions of the day on Wednesday-Friday.
I leave on Saturday morning.
