Why can't Haruka Imai get no respect?

Totally different in the arena. Gracie has a presence on the ice which improves her IN mark due to her "reach", speed, and ice coverage. There is a night and day difference in person between Gold and Imai when you are actually in the arena. Same for comparing Cesario and Gold (some people were saying Gold "stole" Cesario's medal at SkAm last year). Judges judge in the arena, not on a TV monitor and what comes off as stiff/fake/never listening to music on TV is different in the arena just like amazing, incredible, awesome interpretation comes across as very slow and not great ice coverage and quite a bit of personality for Cesario or lots of crossovers and nothing special about the interpretation by Imai in the arena. For Radionova, she comes across with personality in spades in person AND TV and she's fast, fast, fast.

I've always loved her smile and nature on the ice. But loveliness aside, there's nothing technically substantial to break her into the mid/top tier of skaters.

And the chronic flailing in almost everything she does. Never been a fan of that.
