Will Emmanuel come back?

Has anyone heard any rumours/news about Emmanuel Sandhu returning to competition? The last thing I remember reading is that he was taking a "break" but would return in time for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

Even though Canada has 3 spots open to it after Jeff and Patrick's combined efforts, I would say no.

There is just too much competition from Sawyer, Chipheur, Maybee and the new kid on the block, Kevin Reynolds.

Eman would need to take Weir's revived kick-*** approach to his training to have a chance.

Don't forget Fedor.......he's hard at work in Florida! Look what he managed to accomplish with just a few months of actual training last year!

Perhaps we need a new event at World's -- the comeback kid event.......Emmanual, Dubreil & Lauzon, Sarah Hughes, Miki Ando, Sasha Cohen, Michelle Kwan and any other skater who decided to take a year off from amatuer competitions..

They'd probably call it the "Senior Circuit".....:laugh:

ITA that if Eman wants to come back, the first thing he needs to do is stop being such a head case. The second thing he needs to do is FIND ANOTHER COACH, which I strongly suspect would go far in taking care of the first thing. I always found it rather odd that he didn't; most skaters with that much talent and that many erratic results would have.

I would LOVE to see him come back and kick everyone's butt in Vancouver; deep down I know he has the ABILITY to do so, but there's been no indication that he has the brain. Even on an off night, I'd still rather watch him than about 90% of the rest of the guys out there.

I miss Eman terribly. Let's put it this way. Skating is not the same without Eman.

I do miss his heavy makeup, bananarama costumes he used in 2007 LP, the divatude, the driving his coach crazy, pizzazz when he was on and all the other drama that goes with it. And boy, when he was on, he was the ICE GODDESS.

This guy is the headcase. That is just him. You cannot tell a headcase stop being a headcase.

Here is Eman's answer on his comeback I heard second hand. I bet he will be back when he gets bored of "singing and skating" shows and gay modeling shows.

I did get to talk to him, though. I got not one but two hugs and he gave me his CD so that will have to tide me over until I see him skate again. He asked if I wanted to have a picture taken and I said no, not until he's finished competitive skating and he, himself tells me that he's finished, for sure. He didn't tell me that he's finished, yet!

Eman is 27 and his last competition was World 2007, where he finished 16th. He's done no competitive skating since.

Patrick Chan has replaced him and should be moving up the ladder, not down as Sandhu has been his last two seasons. There's lots of competition for that new third spot, and IMO Eman won't be able to win it even if he does return.

Simply put, Skate Canada doesn't need Eman any more.
