Yep. Gold, as well is a strong contender if she goes clean. Maybe not for gold, but certainly for Silver and Bronze.

If Gracie can land all of her planned jumps. Which she hasn't. Still it's a huge accomplishment for her to get into GPF. But it's so weird that now top ladies have the same PCS.
Mah except for I/Z (because we all know they have low expectation there), I am so worried for all of my babies. :hopelessness:
GPF please don't make me feel more anxious!!

Post olympic syndrome for skaters and all their fans. They all have to attend numerous ice shows to please their federations. Then not enough training time and preparation for their new programs. Then boot problem. Then mental problems. :bang: I am becoming an overworrying parent.

Actually with her current layout Yulia is less than a point behind Elena in BV (in the LP 62.08 at SC w Lv4 StS 61.48 TEB w Lv3 STS vs 60.72) which she can easily make up in GOE on the spins. TEB seemed like a great skate (especially compared to COC), she only made 2 mistakes. She doubled a loop, and fell on the second 3F, but those mistakes cost her a ton of points.

This is what she actually did, BV: 50.74 Net GOE 6.47 Deduction -1.00 TES 56.21

Going clean her BV = 58.74 (70% of Lutz) 60.72(100%) Net GOE 10.78 Deduction 0.00

Possible TES totals 69.52 (70% Lz) or 71.5 (100%)

PCS would increase again for a better performance. 71.5 TES + 65 PCS would tie Elena's FS
69.52 TES + 65 PCS would be within 2 points of her.

Also I'm confused, at TEB someone who got ! call on a flip, got no reduction in BV just the -GOE. But Yulia got ! call and got 75.4% BV(not 70% of 8.03, which would have been 5.62) for the 3Lz and 2T combination. Was that just a mistake, or did they deliberately penalize her twice for not doing a 3F in combination? Ashley for comparison got ! call on her Lz but got full BV as well and they just downgraded the 3T<< to the 2T value. Yulia should have had 8.03x for her 3Lz-2T combination but did not. The more I look at this, the more confused I get.


To sum up, Yulia can win with her current layout if she goes completely clean because at TEB she gave up 13-15 TES points and probably 2-3 PCS points.
 
I think silver is possible if Liza keeps her current layout and Gold makes mistakes.
She could win Gold if Elena has a serious meltdown but I can't see that happening tbh. Even with one fall she'll win it.

You know last year Yulia went to the absolute limit of her physical and mental capabilities.
The Russian fed always told the girls this will determine if you go to Sochi....no this....no now this... and she was desperate.
This year she doesn't have that desperation so she doesn't go for broke and I think this is good. She needs to get herself together after everything that has happened.
Like she said, she has 4 more years to make her scores 'big' again :)
 
Sigh... All these worries and stress... I am kind of glad that maybe Yulia might skate for 4 more years and retire after that. So stressful for her and all her fans.
